The answer to our all of our problems is a stupidly easy fix. The starting lineup has been garbage Fultz-mcw lineups have been bad. Fultz with the starters has been fantastic on both sides of the ball. 109.3 offensive rating 88.1 defensive rating in 20 minutes. Augustin-mcw lineups have been great. Flipping augustin and fultz fixes things.2 points

On offense, we had already seen the defensive instincts immediately. Bamba just looks lost outside of some highlight blocks he gets by just being Groot.2 points

At this point bamba needs to go to the g league and learn to play basketball.2 points

What evidence do we have that shows our record or defensive performance would’ve been different if Bamba didn’t get injured and got those minutes instead of Birch? There’s a lot of other reasons that we went on our run aside from Bamba getting injured. Not saying you’re biased or that you’re unable to be objective or anything like that, but the eye test opens yourself to arbitrary biases and conclusions that aren’t entirely objective. I see the same things you’re seeing, but until I see data that actually supports the idea that Birch’s performance outweighs Bamba’s performance and potential development, I don’t see the benefit of putting in Birch.1 point

As Vuch goes, so will this team. You can't build an offense around anyone else right now. Last night was a one-off for him. The plan was to have Gordon be the "go-too" guy by now. As I've said before, Gordon knows that and the pressure he feels to be that guy is destroying his ability to function on the offensive end. He doesn't have an identity in terms of shot selection within the flow of the game. He wants to shoot 3's...he wants to dribble...he wants to facilitate. These are all things he can't consistently do. JI need to have more and more sets run through him. He may be our best chance at finding "that guy". Gordan needs to play more around the basket w/o the ball in his hands on the perimeter. His best chance to be consistent right now is by using his athletic ability to positively impact our offense. He should still pop out and take some 3's but that doesn't need to be the norm.1 point

I love Isaac at the 5 for stretches. Been banging that drum for a while. His ceiling is so high. So grateful we drafted him.1 point

Through the first two games, we’ve given up 98.5 points per game. I take that number every day of the week. If you haven’t seen all the missed lay ups and wide open jumpers, you haven’t been watching the past two games. If our players shot their career averages, we’d be fine. Look at the box scores the past two games, and look at the career averages for Ross, Vucevic, Gordon, and you’ll see what I mean.1 point

This is a night where I hope it's what Isaac can become on a regular basis and not just the odd game.1 point

We finally get to see Isaac at the 5 at least thanks to how bad the other 2 have been lol1 point

This sort of feels like the playoffs last year season. It almost looks like the Magic didn't learn anything new from that series and this is just game 6.1 point

I just read some of your posts as far back as 6 hours ago. Shame on some of you wishing things happen to DJ--good or bad. As you have said, it is important for a team to have a good point guard who is a good floor general and not to mention a good locker room guy. DJ may not be a top 5 or 10 point guard in the league, but he has helped the Magic to start turning things around. Since EP left, DJ has played hard and helped to keep this team focused. As I said last year when the Magic had lost a lead in some games, DJ walked the ball up the court, and he had a look in his eyes as to say, "calm down fellows, we can do this." I am shocked and disappointed in your mindset. I know you are eager for Fultz to become the starter, but you don't want to rush things. It might end up being too much pressure on the young fellow. I think coach Clifford is handling it very well and experimenting as to when to bring Fultz into the game. (You have to bring him along slowly). Btw, DJ is a veteran who does his job and does not complain. I think he is a good role model for Fultz.1 point

I thought he was also a culprit with some of our rebounding woes, where he watched the ball instead of boxing out. Whenever he drives, he becomes a black hole where the only possible outcomes are a crazy layup made, a crazy layup missed or a charge— I can’t recall him ever passing out once the defense collapses. He’s a good player who contributes a lot on defense while also hitting the three at a decent clip, but he also seems like a player that will perpetually annoy me when I watch lol.1 point

Yeah I’m done with AG. Get what we can for him. He’s a negative in every way-1 points

We lost this one. There is no way..we win this game. On four possessions, I've seen miscommunication up the court, failure to take advantage of 5-4, gimme misses at the rims. At this point, they don't even look like an NBA team.-1 points

This game shows how good our defence is. We shooting way below our boys averages. We are a very good team. Just shooting poorly. Now we ain't and we are winning. Let's go-1 points

Ok I guess we all shouldn't over react here and push the panic button. We must remain positive. We can do this. Having said all that I see us finishing this year with 35 wins and missing the playoffs.-1 points

Bamba’s ceiling is a unicorn that shoots threes, runs the floor, protects the rim and can be relatively elite defending smaller players as a big man. I don’t think he gets to some elite level, but I think a Clint Capela that can shoot ok from 3 is within the range of outcomes. Bamba athletically is one of the best combine testers since Gobert. Right now, I think it’s mental quickness rather than physical quickness. You hope for the proverbial “slowing down of the game” that comes with game reps. His issues is with timing his blocks and lapses in defensive positioning. I do think those are fixable with coaching and a large amount of reps.-1 points
