All Eyes On Me Posted July 17, 2024 Report Posted July 17, 2024 With the signing of our last roster spot today, the Markelle Fultz era in O-Town has officially come to an end. It had some high highs, and it had some low lows, but I can’t help but think Kelle helped get us through the darkest times of the rebuild with some highlights and some hope and played a huge role in where we are now. I wish Markelle the best going forward with his health and his career, and although it was time to move on and the right decision, I will miss seeing him in Magic blue. He joins so many other Magic Men in the past thats memories are accompanied by what could have been. Quote
CTMagicUK Posted July 17, 2024 Report Posted July 17, 2024 Last summer I was convinced he was going to be great this year. Injuries suck. The triple double against the Lakers with the clutch buckets in a 1 point win in 2020 was one of the most hype Magic performances of the past decade for me. Love Markelle the person. Wish him well. Shine88 Posted July 17, 2024 Report Posted July 17, 2024 Never forget the 20-21 season when he played a key role in getting us off to our hottest start since the Dwight era. Back to back 20 point games against Washington. Really brought the energy we needed. Did the same thing in 22-23, when I thought we was going to be in the Wemby sweepstakes. We started off 5-20 w/o him and finished a couple games over 500. with him. Quote
orlandoholic Posted July 17, 2024 Report Posted July 17, 2024 I don’t know what to say. I’m a big fan of Markelle. Always defended him, anywhere, anytime. I figured we don’t have the money to keep him. I wish him well. I’ll always be rooting for him. Quote
TreyMachine Posted July 18, 2024 Report Posted July 18, 2024 I think Markelle is a great player and a good person. He makes the players around him better and will thrive somewhere else. My hope is that he gets a payday or a chance to shine as a potential starter - neither of which we could give here. My gut tells me he goes and joins a big-market contender (like LA or Philly) and gets notable minutes on a bunch of nationally televised games to get a payday next year. I at least hope that for him. Good kid and too talented to not do something for at least some more time in the NBA. Quote
harryfromphilly Posted July 21, 2024 Report Posted July 21, 2024 I hope that we offered him vet minimum and he turned it down, rather than us offering nothing. Also, am surprised that there has not been a team statement. 1 Quote
Soul Bro Posted July 22, 2024 Report Posted July 22, 2024 I loved Kelle the person and quiet leader. Unfortunately, his wing is broken, which means his shot is broken, and I respect our decision to move on. Quote
