Yeah i just brought him up because i feel like he’s kinda been forgotten. Often we refer to Suggs who is missing. Just wanted to point that out. You are absolutely right!
-
I like all three.. I was just going by Magic fit. Ivisic is under the radar. I like both brothers. But we will not draft in the second round unfortunately. I should have included Riley. He’s a realistic target if actually like, but i also think similar to Jett, that he won’t see minutes.
-
i also think we underestimate how the injury of Moe effected us. He was instant offense and somebody anybody on the court could play with. Pick and Roll, just Post moves, or spreading the floor. Not replacing the production of Moe is also a major failure. Yabusele was up for grabs as well. Schroeder and Yabusele would have been two major upgrades to what we need and they could have been had for cheap. You can even argue we fumbled on the Knecht trade. People on here were calling this and a Knecht/Bitadze trade could have absolutely happened. This one is more controversial because we would have needed a backup center. But the Knecht scoring/shooting would have absolutely been worth it

absolutely nailed it. My opinion as well. I don’t dislike Knueppel. But if we can’t find minutes for Jett, than Knueppel is maybe a better version of him, but somebody who will see minutes for us. Agree with Nolan Traore. He’d be a project. I made my tier list and i had him as a project. He’s actually a similar version to Kylian Hayes, just i think he’s better bball iq. And some other aspects are also better but he won’t run the point for a successful NBA team for at least 2 years. He’s gonna see G League a lot

So here’s my tier list for the Magic in the upcoming draft. Magic Pick Utopia Trade Up Tier: 1. Kasparas Jakucionis 2. Tre Johnson 3. VJ Edgemcombe 4. Egor Demin (except of the obvious Top 3 that wouldn’t ever be traded) Lucky Draft Fall Tier: 1. Rasheer Fleming 2. Will Riley 3. Asa Newell 4. Derick Queen Project Tier: 1. Nolan Traore (Project) 2. Jeremiah Fears (Project) 3. Khaman Maluach (Project) Realistic Tier: 1. Will Riley (thx Fftl2) 2. Kon Knueppel 3. Liam McNeeley 3. Boogie Fland Denver Pick: Lucky to fall Tier: 1. Khaman Maluach 2. Jeremiah Fears Realistic Tier: 1. Ian Jackson 2. Alex Karaban 3. Danny Wolff 4. Hugo Gonzalez I’m not too happy with both of the realistic tiers to be honest. I love any of the prospects of the Utopia Trade up Tier for our own pick. They all fill a need we have. But i just don’t think teams that are in place to draft them, will trade those picks, because the talent gap between them and the other prospects is just too big.

if we are lucky we can draft either Nolan Traore or Rasheer Fleming if they are available with our own pick. Nolan could fall, could. really happen. We‘ll see. Realistically we’ll probably draft Kln Knueppel, who just like G. Dick, wouldn’t help us at all. I have no hopes for the Denver pick. It’s gonna be a major project and somebody who won’t have a realistic shot at our rotation for years to come. Hello Jett..

How did i not see this before? Family is cool and all, but Paolo wants to win and make his legacy. He won’t be able to do that on solely family love atmosphere. Mike Miller makes exactly the arguments we fans make! And unfortunately Weltman didn’t listen. It’s almost too late to make the necessary moves. The upcoming offseason is about the last opportunity in a while to make somewhat of a splash. KCP is cool and all, but that doesn’t make you take that next step as a contender. That ain’t like what Boston did when they added their missing piece Jrue Holiday (and people sometimes forget Porzingis)

https://x.com/famer__/status/1889314208132567179?s=46 We seen this over and over again. We lost yesterday because of the lack of a PG who can effectively run an offense. You can’t run it through Franz and Paolo and play dribble dribble dribble offense. It’s not consistent. And in these situations when Paolo and Franz are forced to playmake, that’s when we see the TO, dribbling through heavy traffic. Put that Ball in Trae‘s hand (for example) and let him break down a defense and get Paolo and Franz in Position. It would also be awesome to have Franz make these deadly cuts of those situations then. This ^ or Mosley learns how to draw up an offense other than Horns.

https://x.com/nickvanexit/status/1889146706635448819?s=46 This fan was escorted out of the arena for this..I don’t know if it’s a cultural thing, but go into any European Arena/stadium and this is nothing. Bad treatment of fans if you can’t handle that

Well absolutely agree. It’s being discussed in the Weltman thread.. But from an asset perspective. We have 4 picks coming up. 2 firsts, 2seconds. We don’t have the roster spot and also timeline to fit those into our roster. Jett can’t even get minutes. The first rounder are somewhere at 15-26ish. We won’t be able to trade up and get our guy, at least not high enough and this draft is not deep enough, where we can get an impact player at 15-26ish like last draft. We are looking at projects. So why not use those picks on teams that want assets, want to tank or rebuild. Could have absolutely got Fox, no matter his preferred destination. Whose to say it wouldn’t be a D. Mitchell situation where he still extends? Watch our picks go to basically worthless. Teams will know that at least 3 of those picks are up for grabs. The seconds can be had for cash. Mat the very least we should have got Dennis Schroeder for the second round picks.
-
Certainly not good. Loosing to a team that is sneak tanking. Atlanta didn’t even play aggressive. We have a main issue that won’t be resolved any time soon. We only win when we both play elite defense also have a great offensive game(offensive game means All Star performance from Franz and Paolo in our case) If one of those don’t happen, we loose. I think my take has been pretty clear and consistent. Elite defense is cool and all, but in todays NBA it’s just not sustainable. But that’s all our coach will ever address. That’s what we are telling our players. The optimum should be that good defense should be enough to win. That only happens if we are good offensively. Than, at times we should be able to turn up another gear and be elite on defense. The Atlanta game: We had something new going on and it was a great surprise. With Cole playing with the starters, he showed a two man game, mostly with Paolo. Was nice to see some actual pick and roll playmaking from the Magic. Somehow coach decided to bench Cole and play AB down the stretch, why? defense? Defense when you need points and offense? When Cole played like that i imagined how that would be to have a playmaking Wizard like Trae running the point. Bruh, pick your poison and good luck on those pick and rolls.

exactly. I never believe words but i believe in actions. And we haven’t been aggressive with assets ever. We’d be criticizing Weltman more if it wasn’t for the Chicago trade. That’s the one that saved him. We literally waited too long for everything. We waited til Fournier had no more value, we basically waited too long to get maximum assets for our best asset AG as well. And you could even argue that Vooch could have been traded for more assets, if Weltman had better timing and would have went full rebuild when it was needed instead of evaluating for multiple years.

https://x.com/sixthmanshow/status/1888970191645642765?s=46 OMG, if this is true. We need a change. This man won’t make us contenders! But i do appreciate what type of team chemistry he was able to build. I don’t think this is a made up story either. I always get that impression with Weltman. I mean, dude went to sleep after the first round two years ago. They called it a day and just sold the pick. I also said we could have drafted Lively and traded him to Dallas and got something extra. We just don’t have the guts. It was so openly known that Dallas only wanted Lively and pair him with Luka. We have assets now! We can’t waste this opportunity and Weltman is wasting them.

Disagree somewhat here. Depends on how you define miss out. In multiple drafts, we had given up draft position because of meaningless wins. Last example was when Portland outtanked us and we had few moral victories with 5 games left. The result is that the Blazers drafted Scoot and we drafted AB. First i’d take Scoot any day over AB and second if we decided Scoot wasn’t a good fit, we could have gotten tremendous value in a trade back scenario, or even a proven All Star. And i don’t agree with the second round picks. Sometimes, talent just falls for unknown reasons. Inward so mad we didn’t draft Ayo Dosunmu. Indoor know why he fell, but he was supposed to be a lottery pick. Also i was upset we didn’t draft Hardy. Instead we chose cash. Back then, we definitely had the need and roster spot to draft those players. 2023 draft, i still don’t understand. Should have been Likely (or got assets for Likely) and otherwise the pick should have been Cam Whitmore. Last years draft was a no brainer i guess. I think both of us were pretty vocal about TDS and one player i liked more for us was McCain, but he was off the boards. I thought McCain was the only prospect in our range who could also be a starter for us down the line.

Embiid looks done. Probably due to injuries. He moves like he is 50 years old
