2025 Play-In Tournament: Magic Vs Hawks 04/15/25 7.30PM

Recommended Posts

Here's a game thread for tonight's play in game.

It's win 1 out of 2 to get in. If we beat the Hawks we're the 7th seed playing the Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.

If we lose tonight we play the winner of the 9/10 Bulls/Heat game for the 8th seed.

The Magic don't have anyone on the Injury Report except Suggs and Mo Wagner.

For the Hawks Clint Capela, Larry Nance Jr, Jalen Johnson and Kobe Bufkin are out. Trae Young is probable (he'll play).

Expected starting lineups:

Magic:

Corey Joseph

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Franz Wagner

Paolo Banchero

Wendell Carter Jr.

Hawks:

Trae Young

Dyson Daniels

Zacharrie Risacher

Mouhamed Gueye

Onyeka Okongwu

Big game.

Big game.

Although Cory Joseph shouldn’t be a starter for any team in 2025 here we are. Thank God he’s been serviceable! Should be a fun game regardless and hope we get that W. I like how we matchup against Boston and I’d love to beat them again in a 7 round series.

I would also like a Cavs rematch, but first of all we need to win that one out of two. Let's do it and increase the learning curve of our young guys.

Big game.

this is exactly what I meant. We have 2 superstars and 3 players that dont belong in a starting lineup in the g league

FO mission this offseason should to find the appropriate 3rd star (like nuggets did to us with gordon, celtics with porzingis/holiday, bucks with holiday) and decent role players, and not the overpaid bunch of useless crap we have out there

11-5 when CoJo starts this year, including 9-2 in the last 11. He truly turned around our season and it makes me even more upset with Weltman and his lack of initiative at the deadline.

Huge game tonight! Hopefully we treat it like a game 7 and can shift our focus to Boston. Also, hope to see Niang get busted in his chops like he deserves. Go Magic!

You tell 'em big guy! (I don't know if you are big or not :P )

No disrespect to the other participants who are slightly or not at all giving major props to Cory Joseph. What you said about him, All Eyes On Me, are my sentiments. I know we are looking ahead to the future, but look at where we are right NOW. We would not be where we are right now if CoJo had not been called upon to lead us to the Magic Land, mainly due to injuries.

Some have been putting emphasis on his age, but he doesn't look that old, and he has a lot of zip and court vision than starters I have seen on other teams, and some here have been saying he shouldn't be in the league.

Let's enjoy the ride.

LET'S GO MAGIC!!!

Can Corey be the X factor tonight? I take him and anyone else that happens to be .......

Jalen is a star !!!  We need 2 new starters and if the salary cap allows us to keep KCP as a back up, I take him any day.

Huge game, no Q about it.....a million times better to win tonight and rest to prepare for The Crazy Celtics Team than to play another game with huge consequences.

Are the Magic playing on TNT tonight or what? For the last 20 minutes it's been all about Steph Curry and the Warriors. Not one mention about the Magic and Hawks.

Uh oh. Not good sign folks. Not good at all whatsoever. I don't like it. I Just found out that Stan Van Gundy will be doing the game on TNT. The other one or two times he was there we got blown out of the building. I don't have a good feeling about this one. I think we get outworked and outrebounded. They are gonna make a bunch of 3's and we will struggle. This one could get ugly I am afraid. I'm just not feeling the vibe tonight. The combo of TNT, SVG, and poor shooting fears have me doubting the Magic this evening.
