Secretly Space Jesus Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 The amount they think they'll get back for O'neal is fascinating. Josh Howard and Dampier? Goodness.

If I was going to take Shaq's awful, awful contract, you'd have to give me about 3 future 1sts, and take nothing but the expirings I dictate that I'll give you. Right now Shaq is, at best, a middle of the road offensive big man who doesn't rebound or play defense very well. He'd be on the bench on a third of the teams in the league, and he makes 20m+. Or to put it differently, he's exactly what people like me are terrified Rashard will be in 4 years.
MilitaryMagic Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 O'Neal is absolutely untradeable. Miami would have to take back some HORRIBLE contracts (think KNICKS contracts) to trade off O'Neal, because they aren't going to get a lot of high-paid, talented players in return. Besides, Miami's best chance is to win with O'Neal anyway. The guy is still a top center in this league and will be until he retires.
Captain Hi-Top Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Wow... I think I lost a good 15 IQ points reading that thread... thanks. I would seriously consider gouging my eyes out if I was a Miami fan and posted on those boards.
Ned Ryerson Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Thank God they don't let members here have those insanely large signatures. I can't read that thread more then 5 minutes before getting a migraine.
jec Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Wow... that Red Lion guy isn't very bright.

I like how Shaq has improved his game but I still think we need to trade him while we get the chance. Once again I tend to think that trading him to Orlando would be the best option, for him and for us. Too bad we waiting on that though, now that Ariza got traded to LA, he would have been great here in Miami. But Orlando is playing very very well and they have a lot of good pieces that would use, like Arroyo at the point (did anyone see that he had 14 assist last night in 20 min?), keith bogans behind dwayne wade, heck most importantly Pat Garrity and his three point bombs. We're really missing Jason Kapono right about now. I still think a trade is in order and it would be a win-win for both teams. Maybe its because I didn't sleep much, but is he really suggesting Garrity is a key piece to our team? Even suggesting trading him for Shaq?

I didn't think the Heat fans were THAT moronic.
