The Official 2015-2016 Regular Season Thread

1875 is when it was officially incorporated as a town, but it's name was changed to Orlando in 1857.

I guess he didn't bother to compare Payton's first season with Rondo's or he wouldn't have even posted this. Same old Junkie... oh well, at least this thread has comedic value.

Maybe a nice signal to Harris... "If you want to stay with the Magic, don't sign a max offer somewhere else hoping they match".

Well, he'll be making decent money, so he can afford nice seats for the two of you. I wonder if he'll take you to an entire series, or just one game.

    Welcome Home Coach Scott Skiles!

We could go after Ryan Anderson, Dwight Howard, Courtney Lee, Matt Barnes, and Beno Udrih.

Not that their situations have been identical, but one has a winning percentage of 64.7% in the regular season and 45.1% in the playoffs, while the other is Scott Skiles (50.6% regular season 42.9% playoffs). Also consider that Rose missed about half the games Thibs coached in Chicago due to injuries.

  17. I knew someone was saying that early on. Point being, if it was being said at the beginning of the season, it's not really "build up" at this point.
  18. There's no real build up, I believe Ford has been high on Porzingis all year, going so far as to say that if he had been playing here in college, he might be the #1 pick overall.

I think I'd prefer Skiles over D'antoni for this group. If Thibs is available, I think he would be our top target, with Skiles as more of a back up plan. I don't think Skiles would be a guy who could take us all the way, but I think he'd be able to help set the defensive tone this group of guys needs to adopt, help show off their potential and then after a couple years, move aside when a top tier coach is available.

This is something I don't think anyone is arguing against, though it isn't the only way to build a winning team.

Just to play devil's advocate... that was a quote about their approach in the early 90's, it isn't referenced as an ongoing philosophy necessarily applicable to their approach today. The part about Penny, and how that all came about was great, especially the 3 draft picks. The later parts were difficult to read without getting that sinking feeling in your stomach again. What could have been...
