I am not sure what you want the team to do. We're holding out players with even minimal injuries. We're 'evaluating some of our G-League talent', giving them a lot of minutes. Do you want the players to intentionally lose games? If so, I hope you also want to trade away or release every single one of them; because any player who would throw a game for any reason is not someone we should want in a Magic uniform. Do you think the coach should actively try to lose? If so, I hope you're thinking we'll fire him immediately after. Of course, that would be awkward, if he then told the league that management told him to lose games. Might cost us more than we want to lose. Real players don't tank. Real coaches don't tank. GM's tank. They put together bad teams, they dictate extreme caution with any injury, they dictate 'evaluation of young talent'. We're fans, so it's okay to have the mindset that we should have scored 72. But they are players and coaches, and if they had that mindset they would be fans like us soon enough.

Meh... Dallas and Chicago both also won. At this point the odds of us finishing either 4 or 5 is super high. Phoenix and Memphis won’t catch us, we won’t catch Chicago, Sacramento, New York... if we lose to Dallas tomorrow we all but secure 4, we’ll see. Just enjoy the games and let the ping pong balls fall where they may.

As long as Dallas beats Phoenix it's OK if we win tonight. Phoenix will be protecting their bottom position when they play Dallas. I expect a football score LOL

I don't think we were tanking until last Wednesday when we started purvis.

We can afford this win. Next 4 should be losses as dwight will want to play us hard, Toronto's bench is good enough to beat our dilapidated rotation and Milwaukee and Washington are still fighting for seeding. Dallas has Phoenix. That should break the tie.

I just think there there’s too much smoke for there to not be some fire on the Vogel stories. I was excited when we hired him but the dude is just not the answer

I'm not so sure that Vogel is a lame duck. With management's decision to ride out the season and evaluate our players which saddled Vogel with Payton and Vuc as defensive holes I would think they'll give him at least part of the season to see how he does with new players in those slots.

Would have loved the loss, but being able to see Birch and Artis play well combined with Mario’s play (he talks like he wants to return) adds hope for the future!

I just find it ironic that you're in every Game Thread rooting for losses to get that high pick, and then say draft Mikal Bridges over Porter lol. Tanking to draft Bridges seems very underwhelming. I'd rather draft Trae Young lol where do you get these comps? his physical profile is nothing like Porter. He's bigger than Porter, and can play up or down. For a guy his size, huge wingpsan, 9'0" standing reach, good ball handling skills, can score from anywhere on the floor, that's not something you see everyday in a 6'10" frame. I'd much rather take a risk on Porter Jr. than Mikal Bridges.

I think Augustin deserves a lot of credit. Obviously he is not a starter in this league, but he's done an admiral job and has been one of our most consistent players. Much love to DJ! I would like to keep him as our backup or mentor some young talent.

Wait for it....weve got another two wins in this streak.... could you imagine being the Dallas Mavericks in April beating the Orlando Magic 102-89. You break the tie with Orlando leaving Orlando as the 2nd worst team in the league. A meaningless win no doubt.....anybody remember Jimmy Jackson? He is the guy Dallas got after that tie breaking win....we got Shaquille O'neal....and its even worse the heat jumped them and got Alonzo Mourning. Laettner went to Minny leaving garbage for Dallas. Anyone want to know why Mark Cuban is deliberately tanking need only ask how much losing Shaquille O'neal cost the Mavs.

Yeah but the best players will sign with the best teams 1st then the other teams get the leftovers. It might work if only non-playoff teams could sign rookies though.

I don't know about you guys but If we don't get one of the top few picks and JJJ is gone I'd take healthy Mikal Bridges over back surgery Porter any day of the week even if we had to reach. Plus Bridges is a SG/SF and Porter is a PF so factoring in minutes distribution it's Bridges every time!

It's not that I hate him, I just think there are a lot of players in this draft that are as good that haven't had back surgery. I guess maybe it is also because I have never seen him do anything special other than dominate smaller high school kids.

I'm not at all interested in tanking for Bridges, I was simply stating that I would take him over Porter for obvious reasons to those of us that have a clue about back injuries/surgeries. I wouldn't remotely consider taking Bridges with a high pick. My personal preferences are point guards and Centers, we are/will be already heavily invested in forwards. We need to offload Vuc and start bringing along whoever is going to be our center of the future.
