If the stuff about KAT’s gf is true not sure it would help team morale... but if it’s nit true then obvs would love to have him as long as Bamba, Issac and Gordon are not involved in the trade. (Apparently Thibs only wants vets in return so this should help)
  3. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

Exactly. I think he'd be great next to AG or even Oladipo in Indiana. Most teams in the East should be going all in for Jimmy

That would not be a problem in Orlando with AG and Company. Maybe he would finally run Vooch out of town.
  6. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

Well he's an idiot then. People are different. If he hasn't learned that by now he's a fool no matter what he's been through.
  7. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

He sounds like a jackass. I don't want him on the Magic. He's not worth it IMO.

Butler was homeless at 13. He wasn't really considered in recruiting so he had to go to a junior college. He worked his way onto Marquette. He then worked his way into the starting lineup. Then he worked his way into the first round his senior year. Then he worked his way from out of the rotation to in the rotation to starter to star. I think he gets offended when people don't live up to the same standards he sets for himself.

Didn’t the same thing happen in Chicago with JB? He doesn’t play nice with youth.
  10. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

No. The problem is between towns and Butler too
  11. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

Honestly, I think the problem is between Butler and Wiggins. Minnesota might consider trading both.
  12. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

KAT with the fat extension, Minnesota is making the first move with the break up with Butler.

Minnesota really screwed up when they gave Wiggins the max contract. The message Lowe is trying to send here is that Wiggins’ style of play appears to be too laid back. He very seldomly sprints while on the playing court (roughly just 1.7 minutes out of his career average of 36.2 mpg), which may be interpreted as a lack of fervor or hunger to win. Some might argue that we’re jumping to conclusions here by misinterpreting nothing more than an unconventional approach to the game. However, given that he ranks at the lowest 10 percent of the league — along with 7-footers — makes this fact rather appalling. At just 23 years of age, Wiggins still has more than enough time to make the necessary improvements in his game. However, while most of the technical aspects of basketball can be learned, instilling passion and heart is something that is much more complicated. https://clutchpoints.com/timberwolves-news-tracking-cameras-rank-andrew-wiggins-low-in-running-fast-on-court/

We'd need to trade Simmons and Augustin in another deal
  16. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

I think an offer of Fournier and Mozgov with 1 or 2 first round picks for Dieng and Butler should be more than enough. They will switch Dieng 2 years for Mozgov 1 year . They will get a young contract friendly start caliber player in Fournier and an additional 1 or 2 first rounders. We will be in a position to likely sign another max player if we somehow trade simmons or Augustin in another deal.

I'm nowhere near good enough to do that. I just threw numbers into a spreadsheet. Kemba, Kyrie, Terry Rozier at worst.

You should be the Magic's capologist, seriously. This is today's NBA. You lure other big name FA's because your team is committed to winning. That costs money and a big name All Star first. Since Butler is now available, and no one thought he would be, you swing for the fences. Since we have Isaac and Bamba on the rookie salary scale until 2023 now is the time to strike, at least, try. If we can get Butler, how about Kemba Walker next summer?

All-Star Jimmy Butler has been granted permission to not participate in Minnesota Timberwolves‘ media day on Monday, league sources tell me and @JonKrawczynski. The Timberwolves have also been made aware that Jimmy Butler will not be available for on-court activities at the outset of training camp, sources tell @TheAthleticMIN

    Training camp starts Monday!

    What a cluster *****!
  22. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

LOL, the owner is saying he is available and to contact him directly.
  23. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

The problem is Butler leaves and we have no cap room to sign a replacement and you're not giving yourself the best chance to keep him by not having that max salary slot. Fournier needs to be in a deal for Butler. You don't take back dieng unless your clearing the necessary big salaries to get that max spot. Also I'm not comfortable going into the season with Bamba starting before we know he's actually ready. Especially a season where you're convincing Butler to stay.

Still think we should offer Fournier or Ross and Vuc for Butler and Dieng. Maybe we have to include a pick too. After that trade i would offer the Jazz Fournier or Ross, Augustine a if necessary a pick for Rubio and Sefolosha. Starting five: Rubio/Butler/Isaac/Gordon/Bamba Bench: Grant/Simmons/Sefolosha/Martin/Dieng Coach: Clifford With that groupe we would be one of the best defensive team in the league!
  25. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

Minnesota is now in full disaster mode. Wow, did this escalate quickly.
  26. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

Butler Will guarantee us a playoff run and if we trade for him now we will be in a better position to sign him next year.
  27. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

Because you have a better chance now and the cost isn't great
  28. 2018 Official Offseason Thread

lol again, why trade for him now with all these complicated scenarios when you can keep what you have to make moves for next offseason and woo him then. Ross and Vuc are off the books, and Mozgov and Fournier have one year left making them much easier to move. Butler doesn't guarantee us a playoff spot either.
