    Jareth's Tweet Party!

GET BUDINGER I DON'T CARE WHAT THE PRICE IS.
  3. Nah, he counts 'em regardless. The last thread has 6 votes for Shard, a couple of which had no explanation (including mine). However, I do agree that having some sort of explanation after each selection is ideal, so I'll do that in the future.

    Magic @ Sixers 2/9/11 7PM

That is a lot of depth to lose for a backup big, especially considering how little burn a backup C will get for this team in the playoffs. Also, J-Rich will be fine.
  6. So the question being asked is whether LeBron can sustain an average of around 51 ppg for the rest of the year? I'll go out on a limb and say no.
  7. Vote: Nick Anderson The missed FTs will always haunt him/us, but he was a great player for our franchise for a long time. As a side note, he's a great guy. Shot with him for about 2 hours at RDV last summer and talked Magic Basketball. Nominate: Jameel Can't go lower than top 10.
  8. I don't understand this thread.... the season is over?

I think your definition of the word "notch" is a little loose.

    Brandon Bass' Jungle Diet

Perhaps, but several studies have shown that people using high fructose diets versus diets high in glucose do indeed suffer from more adverse physiological effects. It's unlikely that they've eliminated all other sources of error, of course, but the findings are still relevant.

Lebron Taking Thurs Game Very Seriously

I don't think any offense should have been taken to people complimenting Marc's sig. It is extremely creative just as the dragons were/are. The reason Marc's sig is so great is that it incoporates a joke some of us make in the chat room regarding Bass's incredible ability to stare down a wide open teammate and decide not to pass. He's being complimented for the creativity AND satire he incorporated into the signature.

    Brandon Bass' Jungle Diet

I don't really see how a diet high in fructose could be healthy for you, but then again I consider insulin resistance, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and adiposity to be unhealthy, so maybe it's just me.
  13. Vote: Penny Nominate: Lewis Like others have said, this is a tough call between Jameer and Shard, especially considering how much of a Jameer fan I am. Rashard's heroics on the way to the Finals get him the nod.

Orlando Magic - Contenders or Pretenders?

I've never understood the idea of trying to decide what a team can or cannot do in the playoffs based upon one game in the regular season, which is exactly what this thread is intended to do. None of us are fortune tellers, we know absolutely nothing about what is going to happen in the playoffs. Games aren't played on paper. Hell, if games were played on paper we would have won by 20 tonight.

    VC to HOF??

20,000 points is quite an accomplishment. To be one of 37 players in the history of the NBA to get to that mark is nothing to scoff at. Also, Basketball's Hall of Fame takes into account amateur accomplishments. Vince went to two Final Fours while at UNC, although he didn't win in either of them. He's been an 8 time all-star in the NBA. He was THE most exciting player in the league during his time in Toronto and likely has the best montage of in-game dunks in league history. All that said, I don't think he's a HOFer. He just hasn't done enough when it's really mattered. This has been the knock on Vince for most of his career, and we witnessed it first hand last season. I tried to defend the guy and say "he's never been on a team this good, he's focused, he'll come through when it matters for US". But he didn't. And he won't. The guy is a great player. Unbelievably talented. More physical tools than you can imagine. But mentally, he's just not there. I think he has enough credentials to make it into the Hall, but I think his reputation took a huge hit when his flaws were laid out for all to see while here in Orlando. Bottom line,, I wouldn't be surprised either way. I'd be happy for him if he does get in, he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

    The Suggestion Box

    Yes.
  17. Vote: T-Mac Nominate: Lewis
  18. I think it's clear that anyone not expecting Jameer to be some sort of cyborgian mix of Jerry West, Magic Johnson, and John Stockton is just aiming too low.
  19. Guess we gon' agree to disagree home slice boogie.
  20. It is. I've tried to relay this information to Cutestory but he cannot be reasoned with. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN AMIRITE
  21. 1. Getting blown out is much worse than losing a couple of games by a possession. 2. Any playoff loss is infinitely worse. 3. Having a team not in contention is worse. Several people have said this and I believe it to be true: our success over the last few seasons has really made us incredibly spoiled. Wanna be stuck in mediocrity again? If a team is going to shoot flukey percentages while we debate whether or not we're going to play defense and we STILL only lose by 1, we're good. We just got off a 9 game winning streak, the sky isn't falling.

    Gamethread 1/13 Magic @ Thunder

I don't think they fully grasp the repercussions of their actions. This spells trouble for 29 NBA teams.
