  1. Past hour
  2. Especially for next season. Two teams are paying him big money to not play for them next season (I suppose it's possible he returns before the end of the season, but I doubt it).
  3. Today
  4. Could be something, could be nothing. Just as likely he's saying he can't wait to play this season or something.
  5. https://x.com/Notanothermagic/status/1946206467050131915 Jett Howard via IG:
  6. Yesterday
  7. Don't understand the financial part, I mean I get wanting Dame back where he belong, but Milwaukee was going to pay him anyway, so why go over the minimum, and actually gave him 14 a year for multiple seasons? Sad for Caleb, but this is business and it's not like he's impossible to replace.
  8. Dame to the Blazers, 3-year, $42M. https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1945956216733085863
  9. I’ve just noticed the Suns depth chart. It’s terrible. They also have too many centers. I wonder if we could make a small trade. Jett Howard <-> Oso Ighodaro or N. Richards straight up. That would also be beneficial for us. Wendell is due to miss some time. I’m bothered by our depth at center, as M. Wagner won’t see the floor anytime soon
  10. Triple post but I'm 2 for 2 lately with "things aren't happening because we're waiting" and then the thing immediately happens.
  11. Also probably good for Wendell Moore and his chances of getting a 2 way.
  12. Good for Caleb.
  13. Caleb signed with the Hawks
  14. Seen an (unsubstantiated, social media) rumour that we have a deal with Caleb and his agent that if he can't get a full NBA contract we'll bring him back on a 2 way.
  15. To what end? He hasn't played in 2 years. Likely wouldn't want to risk his health playing a bunch of scrubs in summer league. And, most importantly, we couldn't give him a contract if he played well anyway.
  16. Zach Freemantle made an impact by just playing hard. He's a 6'9 non shooter so his likelihood of making it is very limited but 9 boards and 2 steals in 15 minutes. Start him in the last game and let's see if he's worth a 2 way. Give me the unconventional guy who plays hard and smart over the athletic, prototype size guy who looks like he's never seen a basketball before. Noah Penda is good, hope he makes the rotation.
  17. How old can u b to be in sl? Could of we tried out oladipo? ??
  18. Noah Penda racks up 17 points (2 of 4 from 3), 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a block.
  19. Last week
  20. I hope Wendell has a bounce back good yr but I’ve never been much of a fan of his
  21. Wendell doesn’t do much and u have others on our team for that. Goga, Isaac, ect. Or even switch out Isaac’s contract. We need to lower our payroll and those r the first 2 I hope we lose as the talking heads say it will b Suggs
  22. 1. Drew Timme is under contract with the Brooklyn Nets. 2. Drew Timme is nowhere near good enough defensively to replace Wendell.
  23. I like Timme and agree he could fill WCJ's spot.
  24. Orlando Magic Give the Magic credit for trying to build their roster with discipline and patience. Before adding Desmond Bane, Orlando had primarily built its team through the draft and not trades. A league-high nine players who finished the 2024-25 season on the roster were selected in the first or second round by Orlando. Only two players, Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Harris, were acquired via a trade. But, two straight first-round playoff exits saw Orlando take a different approach this offseason. Bane's trade from Memphis for four first-round picks, a future pick swap, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Cole Anthony can be viewed as a push-all-your-chips-to-the-middle move or one that fits the current roster's timeline. President of basketball operations Jeff Weltman sees it as the latter. "I think we're ready to kind of walk into the next phase of our team," Weltman told reporters after the trade. "It's more of a win-now philosophy, a win-now approach." Adding Bane improves the Magic, but at a cost. Entering the 2026-27 season, Orlando is a projected second apron team, a result of four players on salaries that exceed $32 million: Bane, Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs. Banchero recently signed a $239 million extension that would increase to $287 million if he is named All-NBA, MVP or Defensive Player of the Year. There is an additional $8 million in salary in 2026-27 if one of those is met. The Magic's aggressiveness, however, does not fall into the category of recklessness. The four players are under contract through at least the 2028-29 season, with Banchero, Suggs and Wagner having not yet reached their 25th birthdays. Bane turned 27 in June. Orlando has the flexibility to jump out of the second apron next season. Jonathan Isaac's $14.5 million salary is non-guaranteed. And despite the inability to trade a first-round pick until 2032, Orlando has five players -- Anthony Black, Jett Howard, Tristan da Silva, Jase Richardson and Noah Penda -- on the roster that were drafted in the previous three seasons
  25. We should b looking at ppl like drew timme to try out in summer league not these players we know arnt gonna work. Our scouting for summer league needs to improve. Even if the first few games they want our first 3 to shine we need good looks at others. Timme could possible fill wendles spot for much cheaper
  26. maybe unpopular opinion. But i’d actually trade one more time. Jett and maybe TDS. See who we can add here. In FA i’m so interested in Coffey. If we could lock him up to a cheap multiyear contract. I really hate letting go of TDS, but ultimately i don’t think we are able to resign him anyway.
  27. Sure, I mean it matters that the people identifying talent for these teams and the guy(s) coaching this team seemingly haven't done great It just doesn't matter in terms of the overall situation all that much because, if we're being honest, the main 10-12 or so guys on the roster and the front bench coaching staff (the SL head coach is not on the front bench AFAIK) are probably responsible for 99% of a franchise' success in a given year.
  28. Well, it matters at least a little, the coach is not part of the actual coaching staff?
  29. It ultimately doesn't matter, it's summer league, but what a poorly constructed and horrendously coached basketball team our SL squad looks without the 3 actual NBA players. Hoping none of our two way guys come from our SL team and we recruit from outside because man these guys suck. Wendell Moore is ok. Ethan Thompson, who currently is on a 2 way with us and will be with the main roster half the time next year, sucks. The drop off from Trevelin Queen to him is steep.
