  1. Today
  2. You're right... So maybe I'm wrong about... Basically every statement I've ever made on 2 way eligibility lol EDIT: Ok apparently if you've played 3 years you are eligible for a 2 way. Which means the qualifying offer we extended to Mac McClung is just a final year 2 way... But he's not playing SL... So seems likely we only have 1 2 way on offer unless someone outplays Ethan Thompson for one. EDIT2: I am so dumb, obviously you can play on a 2 way with three years experience we've seen Trevelin Queen and Admiral Schofield both do it recently.
  3. Tyus is one of those players who is underpaid. He will only sign short term contracts and test FA like every year. Schroeder is one who comes to my mind. But signing a 1year contract gives him control over his next destination rather than being traded all over the place (like Schroeder has)
  4. Love the signing. He’s well respected around the league, one will say a legend. I just hope we still get an offensive mind as our main assistant coach
  5. Huff signed a two way contract last season for the Grizzlies before he earned himself a contract extension. This board was debating about this. So i don’t exactly know about the rules on these two way contracts. But Huff literally signed a two year last offseason
  6. I like everything we've done, but i wish we would have signed Tyus for a longer contract.
  7. It's impossible to accurately quantify the quality of development coaches, but hopefully the Shammgod hire leads to an improvement in our ball handling as a team.
  8. About as an exciting off-season move for an assistant coach as you could possibly have. This is the best Magic off-season since the T-Mac and Hill off-season 24 years ago.
  9. Awesome! Finally some player development for our guards.
  10. For all the young bucks on the forum, now's the time to let the Magic theme song enter your soul: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vqd-sVisr4
  11. Mavericks assistant God Shammgod has agreed to join the #Magic staff as an assistant coach under coach Jamahl Mosley, a league source told the @orlandosentinel. ESPN first. https://x.com/therealBeede/status/1940577300069876053 Dallas Mavericks player development coach God Shammgod has agreed to join the Orlando Magic as an assistant coach, Andy Miller of Klutch Sports tells ESPN. Shammgod has worked for the Mavericks since 2019 and now receives a larger role in Orlando.
  12. Regarding the offseason as a whole: - cannot say anything about the draft, all predictions for rookies before they start to play meaningful games are stupid. but that was a steep price for a 2nd rounder, hopefully he becomes our own manu - tyus jones, we needed a pg, but i would have liked someone that is pass-first and pass-second - i would like to resign wagner the team would be like wcj / moe / goga paolo / isaac / franz / tds / penda bane / suggs / jase black / tyus / jett or small ball paolo / wcj / goga franz / moe / isaac bane / tds / penda suggs / jase / jett black / tyus
  13. my opinion on bane trade: pros - it fits the timeline of our young core - weltman finally made an aggresive move - shooting was our main need - he is also relatively young and could play here for a long time, therefore opens our window for 3-4 years minimum - got rid of kcp who was an awful signing last year cons - i believe the same or similar trade could have been made with 3 first rounders instead of 5. similar cases of overpaying for the potential "missing piece" have misfired badly (mikal bridges, paul george or rudy gobert), and none of them brought a championship to the new team. - did not like cole anthony being shipped as part of. he was instant scoring from the bench + clutch in the final minutes. would have preferred isaac to leave, since he always has this minute restriction and has never really developed - we needed more a pg than a sg. that means now someone will play out of position, most likely suggs doing pg stuff. unless black becomes a reliable starter and jalen becomes our new 6th man, i would have liked to go all in for a rising pg instead of a rising sg overall, I give it a 6/10 trade was needed and player style and age fits the team, but overpaid and and could have had a better possible option
  14. Yesterday
  15. Well, I am thinking that Mos and the FO want to give WCJ until the all-star break to pull the trigger...if a better deal is on the table. I have no sources, just the feeling that I get with from our team.
  16. I saw someone say Charlottes goal this offseason is to get really white based off their draft and signing of Plumlee haha
  17. Goga + Jett for Knecht and Vanderbilt. Done deal.
  18. What are Charlotte up to? Lamelo Tre Mann Spencer Dinwiddie Colin Sexton Nick Smith Jr Josh Green Josh Okogie Is a lot of guards.
  19. Wendell Moore and Alondes Williams aren't 2 way eligible, same as Jay Huff and Jarrett Culver last year. They've already played 3 years in the league. Ethan Thompson already has one of our 2 way spots this season, although we could waive him if someone out performed him. Kylor Kelley played on a 2 way last year with Dallas and New Orleans so he might be someone in line for ours considering our injury risk(s) at C. Nate Santos is the guy I like most/am most familiar with. 6'7, positive wingspan, can really shoot the ball.
  20. Hopefully. We all know he won’t see the floor with our team. Imagine we would have Lively on our squad right now
  21. Jett not on the summer league roster… Is this anything?
  22. https://x.com/therealbeede/status/1940470850844873054?s=46 our summer league squad. I like the squad in general. It’s a tad Guard loaded. I like Johnell Davis, Wendell Moore, Alondes Williams a lot as two way players. More than MacClung. Curious about Bingham Jr. Marcus Santos is highly skilled, i doubt he can play center in the NBA though
  23. CT I heard on a POD Cast about this death in his family. It’s a forgone conclusion he will sign though according to their sources. Here is a link I found. https://www.essentiallysports.com/nba-active-basketball-news-paolo-banchero-shares-heartbreaking-family-update-amid-magic-s-tyus-jones-move/
  24. BREAKING: The Knicks expected to hire Mike Brown as their next head coach, the Post has learned. Long search is over to replace Tom Thibodeau. Brown arrives with a 454-304 career record and two Coach of the Year awards.
  25. I don’t understand what the Bucks are doing. But Dame can sign with any other team for the veteran minimum and still get fully paid by the Bucks. Orlando should be all over this. I doubt we have a chance though. He’s probably going to the Lakers. I can already see it coming
  26. https://youtu.be/bF6XApdGnj8?si=K-m97VTHOedy39Qv https://youtu.be/rj6I7xecZ4c?si=VrhzxiVJsXmHKh-W https://youtu.be/HEDE7woriNY?si=JHgx4towpaXlI_3q Closer look and more detailed look at Jase. He’ll grow tremendously behind Tyus Jones
  27. Who's doing that? Surely if he was that good the worst team in the NBA might want to keep him.
