Never thought I’d see the day. Hopefully he can get through his Lakeland minutes unscathed.

Jumping the gun a bit, I'll admit, but if Isaac is back and looking like his old self (hopefully a lot more sturdy), what does our new rotation look like? I have two ideas, one more traditional smaller ball; one more super-length. I'm not including K Harris and Schofield, as they need to go to Lakeland sometime.

Traditional

Fultz/Anthony

Harris/Suggs/Hampton

F Wagner/Ross/Houstan

Banchero/Bol/Okeke

Isaac/Carter/M Wagner

This pretty much leaves Bamba as the odd man out.

Super-length starting lineup/defense

Fultz/Anthony/Suggs

F Wagner/Harris/Hampton

Banchero/Ross/Houstan

Isaac/Bol/Okeke

Carter/M Wagner/Bamba

The disadvantage of this is the 2nd group has no real defensive presence. Obviously, when(!?!) Isaac comes back he will probably be on a strict minutes restriction to begin with, and will probably play a lot more with the 2nd unit.

Yeah my phone just got the Isaac update …awesome news …depending on what time his game starts I may go

Let him play 2-3 great games and trade him before he gets injured again.

Sounds like it’s being televised on ESPN+ as well

If Isaac can come back and stay healthy he’s going to be the missing piece we’ve been needing on the defensive end. He will be our rim protector and defensive anchor which will allow us to play on the fast break where Markelle excels at facilitating. Not to mention how his offensive game was improving before he got injured so anything he contributes there is definitely a bonus. Hope Isaac can get back on this team ASAP!

I really don’t wanna be the Debbie downer here, but I just want to give my 2 cents. The best approach for JI is that we have no idea who he is as a ball player anymore. He hasn’t played competitive basketball in 30 months. If he can make it back to what he used to be pre-injury (which mind you, was still very much a project player with high upside), I don’t expect it to happen quickly. I’m choosing the expect the worst and hope for the best mentality personally, but I also don’t wanna pee in anyone’s corn flakes who chooses to approach it differently

All we need from JI is to be a defensive presence. As long as he focuses on what he's always done well which is defend and forgets the meaning of the stupid eurostep then he'll be an asset. He's also bulked up quite a bit so obviously staying healthy is gonna be key for him.

After paying him what, 30-40 million to see if he has anything left? Foolish. If he can come back stronger and ready he is a no brainer. Worth the gamble at this point. I don’t want to watch another grant hill situation. Thanks
