Marc Acres 3:16 418 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 He wants to talk to the DeVos. He's been wanting to talk to them since his surgery. Meeting Henny was ok, but his main problems are with communications with people higher than Hennigan Hennigan speaks for the ownership, I don't get why it's such a big deal that he speaks with someone over the GM. This is a brand new GM the only reason he should be trying to go over his head is if he is getting answers that he does not like. If that answer happens to be "No, we will not trade you to Brooklyn" then I guess you are SOL.
magicdoc1 261 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 If it's a choice between the Nets bad offer and no offer, the better way to go is no offer. I would tell him to take a vacation before I screw this teams future so he can get what he wants. News flash *******, you don't always get what you want in life. Well, he has no choice at the moment. The Nets are trying to acquire either johnson or scola via trade and wants to sign gerald wallace and possible kirilenko via free agency. If they do one of the above, they are not going to be able to sign Dwight Howard via free agency next year as they have no cap space for 2013. He will have no choice other than signing with the magic or seeking a less lucrative long term deal with another team with cap space. We should not be in any hurry. He is currently very desperate and that is the reason why he sued the magic. He knows the Nets are not waiting for him as they want to move foward. They dont want to waste another year(first year in the new arena). Teams in the league are seeing this and they now know there is a chance of keeping D12 long term if the trade for him. We should wait and listen. Trade him only after the NETS or D Wil make their decisions..
Crazyhorse81 245 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 Wouldn't it be kinda cool, if the Magic told him to suit up and sit on the bench for the entire season, just to show that these stars don't run the teams? Over the past decade or so, the players have been taking control with diva antics, drama, entitlement and by being spoiled brats... but what could the outcome be, for the Magic and the league, if the Magic would tell him to request a favorite seat to sit on the bench and ride it for 82 games? Then he can leave, without his bird rights, all he wants. Draft picks (in a bad draft, right?) and cap space here we come? This mod is a thief!!!

If D12 takes his time returning to court this coming year due to his back problems then he will face the possibility of no interest of some of the teams with cap space in 2013. No that many teams will risk signing a max contract on a player who's back is not doing well and can face longer lasting problems. If D12 is smart...He should sign the long term deal ASAP with the MAgic to secure a contract. If and only if this happen; then we can trade him to whoever we want. He is no possition to demand. He made the worst mistake of his life by extending and an even worse mistake by trying to sue an organization and cry all over the media. Carmelo and Lebron are enjoying this more than anyone. O Town Terror 11 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 Our best bet, obviously, is to get 3-4 teams in the mix. No single franchise can give us what he's worth. LA, Memphis, Houston, Atlanta, and Philly are the ideal teams in terms of the players I want. How does this look. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=884f39f
Secretly Space Jesus 670 Report post Posted July 1, 2012 As opposed to what? this is asset building time dump hedo with him, get these cheap and hopefully good young kids sign 2 max guys next summer There aren't going to be any max guys available next summer, much less two. Not to mention that making a trade just for the sake of saying you made one is exactly how teams end up screwing themselves long term. No trade is better than a ****ty trade, and yours is so, so ****ty. Especially since it probably gets the Magic JUST enough assets to get an 8th seed, and miss out on a lottery pick. Look at what Hennigan has said he wants, players that want to be part of something bigger than themselves. That doesn't quite fit with a guy that was exploring legal action against his team because he made a choice he regrets. I do agree that it would be possible to force his hand, I just have no interest in doing that. If he really is doing all of these things (and it certainly looks that way) then the only course of action I would take would be to try and get the best possible offer and get him the hell out of our fair city.
