Making The Video - Fouls, Flagrant Fouls, Calls and Non Calls

Recommended Posts

Looked like he made a play on the ball. Even though it was a hard foul id let that one slide.

I think it depends on what he did with his left hand. But judging from the camera angles available, it wasn't a flagrant.

Apparently, this is a big deal. But the stuff the happens to Dwight...not so much. The NBA is outrageous.

Wow. Griffin retaliates with a full on charge towards Battie, and then shoved the ref. No tech, and is rewarded a flagrant. Pathetic.

I also remembered another great Dwight "foul" moment. It was our home game against OKC. Collison raked him across the face, Dwight retaliated with a slight swing, and got a tech.

OKC @ Orlando

It's at 0:47.

So Battie...was trying to hold him up and he retaliates....and..its called a flagrent because he was trying to save him..from dropping on the floor? Thats a regular foul.

BULL****.

Yeah, this what I saw. Fouled firstly by the guy who hit him on the head. Griffin starts to go down after Battie holds his arm, then Battie looks like he realises hes going to hit the floor hard, and tries to grab him so he doesn't. If anything, it should've been double techs.

We all know Blake can do whatever he wants after this and the farce of the dunk "contest".

The worst is that somehow that fact that Blake gets fouled hard "all the time" makes his reaction "ok" or at least explainable to the commentators and the refs clearly acted that was too (since by all fairness, he should have been ejected for his reaction, if we go by the letter of the rules making contact with the ref.)

But for Dwight, his swinging elbows to try to get people off his arms is unacceptable and result in tech after tech and foul after foul.

The issue is here, the fact that players and plays get "pre-reffed" before they even happen. Perfect example, the foul on Dwight in Cav series on the three by Lebron a few years back.
