yeah, i agree. The problem is people read "we're trying for player _____" and understand it as "Player ______ is coming to the magic".

 

The only time an insider said this was Rev's infamous "DONE DEAL PAUL TO ORLANDO" post.

1) Some people crave for any "insider" info

2) Some people give "insider" info (which isn't set in stone)

3) The people that crave for "insider" info get their hopes up

4) "insider" info proves to be false or just doesn't push through

5) People that craved for "insider" info go ape**** and stuff.

Why is that a problem? let them enjoy their moment of hope, if they need that second of an optimistic future to make their day a bit better - I'm fine with that. When the events play out they will negotiate the let down or continued hope if it happens. Either way it keeps the discussion going.

I think it's also a case that Otis might actually be working on something. I mean, the CP to Orlando thing wasn't completely ridiculous, but maybe they didn't want what we were offering, or just didn't want to give up CP (for example).

 

So the deal falls through. It doesn't necessarily mean the insider is lying, just that the deal didn't happen. It's more a case of thinking that working on the deal is the same as finalizing it.
