I remember when people called me crazy for thinking Melo and Amar'e were an awful fit, especially with D'Antoni. I understand that Melo getting fat and Amar'e being Eddy Curry-like (although EC tried to get rebounds) certainly hasn't helped, but that was a disaster waiting to happen all along.

You don't get it. Nearly every single player in this league is more efficient in transition, and Ellis is in a system where he gets to do it nearly every possession. The Magic value defense and half court offense more than running, which means he would get less opportunities in the fast break, which means his efficiency would drop even more. :svgsad:

As Captain has pointed out a number of times, just because people mention stats to back up their argument, it doesn't mean they're basing their argument solely on said stats. Most people can watch a few Golden State games and see that most of Ellis' points come from easy fast breaks and the rest come from dumb, off the dribble contested 3s. Him having to waste energy on defense and get most of his points from a half court set isn't going to make him any more efficient, and there are a number of things to back this up.

Yep, I've always hated that stance. Apparently saying that Nick Young is a bad scorer because I see him play and he shoots a lot and doesn't make many shots is better than saying Nick Young is a bad scorer because of his .512 TS% and .467 eFG%, barely averaging 17pts on 15 attempts a game.

Yep, his career numbers back up that he'll have average efficiency. . . he'll go 7-10 from 3pt one game and then 3-13, 1-6 the next. He'll win you about 9 games in a season and lose you about 32. The Magic need creators, not chuckers that put up big numbers every other few games because they just shoot a lot. The team lacks someone that can drive to the lane consistently and create for himself or others. We already have plenty of contested fadeaway 30 footers being jacked up, don't need any more.
