I really think that the pick will be Ben and I would be completely fine with that if we were to add Beldsoe and another lottery pick.

We could always get Smart next year if it really came to it. I've started to warm up to Mclemore, though I'd be fine with whomever Hennigan decides to pick. I really wanted Burke earlier because of his determination, but I wonder about his ceiling. Even if his leadership seems miles above the other prospects, he just doesn't look built to be great. After seeing some interviews from Mclemore, I'm not as tentative about picking him. Especially since we all know he isn't supposed to be the first option for this team and if he ever is, then something went terribly wrong.

Good call!

what position do you think we truly need and I'm not talking about in a traditional 1-5 way... Do we need a rim protector, a scorer, defensive ball handler? 3 point shooting point guard? I think Tobias Harris can be our scorer and having McLemore is going to help everyone on the team, since he spaces the floor and can attack the basket. Taking Oladipo won't solve anything... Might as well play Harkless at the 2...

All of the above.

Drafting by need (positional, play style or otherwise) is reserved for teams who already have the key pieces of their team in place(even some of the better drafting teams in the playoffs still just draft the guy with the most potential or the BPA). We just need talent.

You'll just have stacked positions and some of the players will develope less because of limited playing time. I can't believe people are preaching this bs, when they are also preaching that Glen Davis and Afflalo need to be traded to make playing time for the young guys.

Oladipo can help one of the worst defensive teams in the league. He is also a better creator than bmac. I do think bmac fits better with harris and Harkless. Oladipo is and will be a better defender than Harkless, because he has great foot quickness and a motor. Victor is one of the best defenders to come out in a long time. He is a bigger stronger avery bradley.

You have to analyze first where Orlando is getting killed defensively, is it at the perimeter or at the rim? Maybe it would be better to get a rim protector. Better team defense would fix more problems than getting an inept offensive player that plays lockdown defense on the perimeter. Let's not forget that drafting a guy nr 2 means paying him close to 18 mil over 4 years. Specialist perimeter defenders are never that expensive and if they don't even have a 3 point shot, why even bother?

Who would you suggest we take at #2 that fits that mold other than Noel, who will probably go first overall?

Is having 3 young SF's too many? I'd say no for many reasons.

1. Our roster as a whole is distinctly untalented and if the 3rd SF (assuming Hark and Harris are the other two) was extremely talented I'd take him because believe me we need it.

2. Harris spends time at the 4 when we play small ball and is likely to do so even if he starts at SF.

3. Harkless could potentially spend time playing SG, or even start there, depending on his development.

4. All 3 guys will have trade value so that if a star becomes available on the trade block we can use some assets to acquire them and not be left without a starting SF.

And since SF is the only position where we have more than 1 prospect I'm excited about I'm honestly not worrying too much about us suddenly having an over abundance of talent at one position.

Now if we draft a PG with our next 5 draft picks then I'll understand where you're coming from but since it's highly unlikely that the BPA every time we draft will be a PG I think we'll be ok.

Also, for anyone who still likes Shabazz Muhammad:

And of course, you can't dismiss the trust factor. His dad's fraud allegation aside, who walks around saying they are a year younger in basketball? This isn't a baseball player from the Dominican Republic trying to get off the island to make a better life, it's a man from a stable two-parent home who appears to have intentionally misled recruiters and scouts.

What you're left with is a great competitor who likes to win and has always been able to score, but who is also a rare combination of being smaller, older, less skilled, less trustworthy and a worse teammate than we were ever led to believe.

In this draft it's pretty much McLemore or bust since Smart opted to stay in college if we draft at 2, that is just my opinion. Otto Porter is solid though, I just don't think he's worth the 2nd pick. Better to trade it.
