I was told the educated guess is that the Rockets asked for Vuc. And we said no. That was that.

They then revisited in a 3 way trade, which I have no details on.

I think Rob has called about Favors too, but I don't want to ruffle any feathers here so Ill just say that it's an active day and leave it at that.

I'm glad Rob called about Favors. I think he is quietly one of the best young bigs in the NBA. I'd love to see him here! But it's just a GM doing their due diligence and gauging the market. As much as I'd love to see us make some big moves to help the team, I wouldn't be surprised if we just kept the 5th pick, drafted our guy and that's it. It seems like there's a ton of trade hype a lot of years, but it's been mostly smoke in recent years. 2008 was the last year a top 5 pick was traded. We'll see if there's any fire this year.

I think you can just rest on robs reputation of thoroughness and figure that if there's a deal available, we're exploring it. His insistence of obtaining exactly what he wants and nothing below generally means none of this will ever come to fruition.

Thats exactly right.

Yeah, every year they say "draft night is going to be CRAZY!!!" and nothing crazy really happens. Well besides the Cavs blowing their first pick.

a few seasons ago when the 76ers sent Holiday to the Pelicans was a pretty crazy year. I can't remember if that was the year Bennet went first and we took Oladipo was it?

Im pretty sure there were 2-3 trades within the top 12 or so picks that were moved on draft night that season.

After all the hoopla this AM, i'm expecting a quiet draft. We probably walk away with Winslow, passing over Kris & Mario. lol

Yes it was. Noel was originally drafted by the Pels and traded to Philly

So you basically have nothing?

LOL, is that a Cavs fan after they drafted Bennett?

Funny thing is that drafting Bennett might've helped them miss the playoffs and getting the #1 pick again. Leading to LeBron signing there

I think you normally don't have teams in the top 5 with a "win now" approach. The Lakers, with Kobe's career twindling, are different. They'd be willing to trade the #2 for a quality veteran / all-star.

I think we're 100% going to see a trade happen today for the #2.

It's amazing to think of the fortunes that can happen with a team after a blunder move like that.
