Soul Bro 1,422 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 Makes for fun reading. Let's post the various rookie rankings in this thread. 1. Andrew Wiggins2. Nerlens Noel 3. Elfrid Payton 4. KJ McDaniels 5. Nikola Mirotic http://www.cbssports...rseason/ROOKIES I actually think an argument could be made for Payton being the best pick in the draft. Go Magic! Fultz4thewin 2,464 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 I don't see how anyone can reasonably put Payton over Wiggins right now. I think Payton is 2 though
Ryan the Magic Fan 253 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 The efficiency Wiggins is showing as a rookie along with a really high amount of minutes being played kinda put him at number one. But I'd be comfortable with Payton at #2. Noel really only effects the game defensively and still has next to no offensive game at all. The moment this season ends someone send Payton JJ's perfect shooting video.
O_SteveO 105 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 If there wasn't so much previous hype about Noel, there's no way he'd be ahead of Payton.
bhnole 153 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 I don't see Noel as a rookie. He didn't play but has been in the Sixers system for two years.
The Neighborhood Bully 266 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 I wouldn't put too much stock in a ratings system that indicates Channing Frye is the 19th best center in the NBA, 6 spots ahead of Joakim Noah.
Optimist Prime 197 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 I don't see Noel as a rookie. He didn't play but has been in the Sixers system for two years. By the rules, he's a rookie. Blake Griffin dos the same thing and won ROTY.

Catman 380 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 I don't see how anyone can reasonably put Payton over Wiggins right now. I think Payton is 2 though Agree. Wiggins is clearly the best rookie. But that is no surprise. He is an incredibly gifted athlete who will be a legit star for the Wolves. Payton at #2 or 3 really should silence the critics of us trading for him. In fact many Philly fans are starting to hate their GM and some of it is due to them seeing how well Payton is playing.

This is the question! ok, Prime answered this question, there is another question begging to be asked.............Would Elf be closer in numbers and total production if half of his Rookie season was not wasted in a dysfunctional Coaching/management situation? I would venture to say is the very reason he isn't closer to Wiggins in production.

It's not Vaughn's fault he couldn't hit a free throw and was blocked something like 58 times in the first 30 games. But even if Payton played like this the whole season he still wouldn't catch Wiggins. Wiggins has just been that good
