Some watch and rewatch that clip of him making David Robinson look like an utter fool and instinctively think, "ZOMG! HAKEME IZ DA JORDAN OF CENTRES!!@@1", when in reality, he got most of his points off his raw athleticism early in his career much like Dwight.

Emory889 353 Report post Posted June 8, 2010 I'm trying to figure out why this topic doesn't deserve it's own thread. I think it's infinitely more interesting than discussing yet another trade proposal that won't happen.

Eyriq 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2010 This is a great post. Dwight gets a lot of undeserved hate, yet is one of the more dominant players the league has seen, let alone amongst bigs. RealGM needs this thread btw.

I've always contemplated how Dwight would fit in back in the day. Especially when you hear him do things that no center in history has ever done(lead the league in blocks and rebs.) But I believe you're completely right with your assessment. Which brings up the question. How many years does Dwight have to dominate and win a 'ship? You can't imagine this lack of bigs will last THAT long.

UBBALLER8 248 Report post Posted June 8, 2010 Nice write up. I'm not sure you can speculate on Dwight's statistics in the 90's with any accuracy but it makes for interesting conversation.
