    Prediction.

Opening night will be Heat vs. Celtics, according to Doc Rivers at his golf tournament in Orlando this past weekend.

However, with Pietrus, Q-Rich, Carter, and Redick, there is simply no more room. As soon as I saw the trade proposal this afternoon, I loved it. Bringing C-Lee back to Orlando not only benefits our lineup, but it's the right thing to do. Jersey needs bigs, BB wants playing time, and we could use a young SG who can already play defense. This gives us the flexibility to play VC at the three or leave him out of the rotation completely when he's in January Vince Mode. Do it, Otis!
  4. Hopefully, this will be the season in which Brandon realizes that he has to play both hard AND smart to crack the rotation. There's a certain amount of validity to what he said about Stan needing to try something different, but BB needs to take accountability for not being mentally prepared every game and practice. He has a ton of potential and we need him to realize it.

Redick offered 3 years $20m from bulls

We will match the offer. The organization loves JJ on and off the floor. Otis, BVW, and RDV knew that there would be a team offering more than JJ is "worth" and they are prepared to pay the price to keep him. Book it. If not...while I will be sad to see JJ leave Orlando, I'm really proud of him for his tenacity. He has built himself into a quality NBA player and never gave up even in his darkest moments. He deserves every bit of success and wealth.

    Orlando Summer League???

It sure did look like Baby Chewing was being showcased for a spot in the league today. That wasn't nearly as unsettling as the incredible number of fouls called. Were the refs trying to impress someone? That game was virtually unwatchable.

If not, please forgive me. It's not him, and it also should be noted that while TragicFan has a very poor record and is often maligned here, his record really isn't that much worse than some of these other people claiming to be important. The only difference is that those people don't get their threads shut down because they think they're legitimate, whereas TragicFan is clearly parody. I would like to state for the record that I am not important in any way, shape, or form and that the only legitimacy I have ever achieved in my life is the fact that my parents were wed to each other when I was conceived and born.

If not, please forgive me. Not that I'm aware of. The only "inside" info I've ever laid claim to was the Rashard suspension, which I was indeed the first to break to this board. I was fed some erroneous info about CJ Watson last season, but I don't believe that caused any threads to get locked.

The throat to choke as we say. There has to be some player right? Could be our lives are so intertwined in Magic basketball that we continuously have to play the what-ifs which gives us some dream team type squad. Just doesn't work like that. Maybe we just watch box scores to see who "showed up" or wait for someone to give us an opinion? Yeah blame that guy. We're so caught up in who showed up last, that we forget how they even got there. Imagine if they got booted in the first/second round.....who would you blame then? If you watched the series, it was pretty obvious why the Magic lost and it didn't rest on any one player. In fact most of the players suffered because of it. When the approach changed, it was obvious. In other words, we really need to get over it and move on. You win as a team and lose as a team. I agree with you; Pietrus did suck in the ECF as well as Vince.
  11. When the VC trade went down, I was optimistic that he would be the go-to scorer who would both compensate for the loss of Turk and get us back to the Finals. Instead, he had an injury-riddled season that culminated with a frustrating loss to Boston. Was it all Vince's fault? Certainly not. However, as much as I wanted to believe that Vince was putting forth his strongest effort, it just didn't appear that way in our biggest playoff games. He got outplayed by JJ, blown by on defense, and choked away an opportunity to at least send game 1 into overtime. Don't act like he is above reproach, my man.

Why is this? Logical & Educated Magic Fans Only (please)

Dave, this thread is a shining example of sheer irony. You started by asking for logical Magic fans and then proverbially crapped the bed. As has been pointed out, different players show desire in different ways. Say what you will about Rashard, he has done everything the Magic has asked him to do and then some. Yes, he went cold in the ECF...but without him last season, we wouldn't have made the Finals. Had we not "overpaid" for him, we would not have reached the ECF for two straight seasons. It's ok to be frustrated. Heck, we should ALL be frustrated. We underperformed and showed up clearly not ready for Boston in the ECF. We all know that the talent on our team was enough to get past Boston and possibly LA this year. My advice? Find a hobby and get over it, brah. Looking to blame the players, the front office, the fans...what purpose does that serve? I went through a few days of trying to find a scapegoat myself. Was it Stan? Vince? Dwight? Or was Boston simply a better team, peaking at the right time? As Jesse Jackson said on SNL so many years ago, the question is moot. It happened. Grow a pair. You're no more logical than anyone else on this board, so come down off that high horse. Rack me.

Last Call with Drunk on Mystery: Dwight in the 90s

Yep, yep and yep. This is one of the most overlooked aspects of big man basketball in the 90's. For as good as Shaq, Hakeem, Robinson, and Ewing were, there were also 10 other starting centers in the league that make Big Z look like an effing cheetah and make Dampier, Haywood, Okur and Kristic look like a pride of fierce lions. Jack Sikma says "I resemble that remark."
