If there is a lockout, Does Stern return when the lockout ends?

Otis must be the front runner. The players love his financial skills. The new salary cap would exceed $100 million.

    Pick-up basketball

I suggest indoor AND somewhere near a hospital. Remember, I actually watched Lucas and Havlicek play live at Ohio State. I am nearly 6 foot, which made me a power forward in my day, when 6 foot was pretty tall.I am slow, but also immovable. I can take a charge once, and no one will try me again. Girth is important. My biggest problem is conditioning. Could we have a no fast break rule. Otherwise, I imagine I would be good for about 3 two minute spurts. I would love to come to a game and meet some folks. If the nurses let me, I will be there.

    Redick to be starter?

About time for Redick to get a true chance. He deserves an opportunity. Hope his injury is truly healed.

Im going to propose to my gf at the magic game next year

I asked my wife to marry me when I was 21 and she was 18, and we got married when she just turned 19. I asked her on the phone. We are still together after 41 years. I say, ask her however you want, and be serious about it and all that goes with it. You both are gonna make stupid mistakes over time, so the key is "can you tolerate her stupid mistakes, and can she tolerate your stupid mistakes." Not expecting mistakes is the biggest mistake couples make. If you have that part right, the sooner you start out, the better.

I have nothing to contribute, but I just wanted to be part of this epic thread. This is to match my single post in the Chris Paul thread. IBT Hall of fame

    2011 Playoffs

I am happy, and so glad that Lebron decided to get serious this game. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA One nice thing for him, though........... When he loses the next game back in Miami he will be able to sulk in his own car, instead of a bus.

    2011 Playoffs

I don't care who it is that is messing up things for the Heat. LeBron, Wade, the coach, the refs, or someone else. Whatever, it just makes me happy.

TRY TO READ THIS THREAD WITHOUT CRYING

T-Mac would have made Wade worse, like he has almost every other player he ever played with.

Should the Magic sign Shaq as a back up to Dwight ?

    Exactly. I am retarde.

Should the Magic sign Shaq as a back up to Dwight ?

My brain hurts from the notion presented in this thread. We need to make sure that people are at least in the 5th grade before they can post. There is only one Superman. Shaq has turned into Lex Luthor's fat friend.
  14. Ok, I am a Christian, and I believe that Christians should be worried about other Christian's behavior instead of railing about what homosexuals are doing. A few points: 1. Every Christian has a problem. It might be lust, or lying, or speeding, or any of a myriad of options available. The line is kind of unclear and none of us are perfect, though a lot try to act like they are. By acting up about homosexuals they are simply trying to make their own sin seem like a lesser problem. Like saying: "At least I am not that!. That is the height of arrogance. Like a fat preacher condemning every sin but gluttony. 2. Jesus only got mad once, as I read the Bible. And that was when he found out there were moneychangers in the temple gauging people for sheep to sacrifice. I bet he would be really upset with the so-called Christians that are gauging others today. 3. Jesus was not prejudiced. He stopped the "religious leaders" when they accused the adulteress by asking the one of them that had no sin to throw the first stone. He never judged anyone, but rather he presented His truth, and offered them the opportunity to judge themselves. He always said, "Follow Me." That is a good example for Christian's today. Live a life worth following. So, fellow Christians, I think we need to be concerned about people in our own faith, and leave those not in the faith alone, except for praying for them. That is my two cents worth. I could give a dollars worth of opinion, but I have already made enough noise.

    Why watch the playoffs now.

I am finally starting to warm up to watching some of the other playoff games. I always go into a funk when the season ends without a parade. My interest is returning because LA is out, and my pain from losing is waning a bit. I was really happy when LA lost. I really don't have a favorite, other than perhaps OKC because they are small market, like us. I am kind of conflicted on how I feel about Atlanta, but my gut wants them to win so we can say we just got steamrolled by a destined team. My biggest reason is to watch LeBron lose. How do you feel about it?

    The $35 million man

More power to him. Doc was fine for us. I think McGrady would have gotten any coach fired. He was both smart and lucky to get the Boston gig. And he has done a good job there. Hence, I wish him well against every team except the Magic.

Trade Rumor Heard on ESPN Radio this morning

This whole thread reminds me of the gals here at the nursing home. Mildred is hot, but frigid. Beulah Mae is Uuuuugly, but easy. Mary Beth is just so, so looking, but can be had if you approach her right. Bottom line, it doesn't matter. I don't have a chance with any of them because of what I look like. Lead pipe dreams.

So like, what does your username even mean man? (EPIC THREAD)

I love clean windshields. Dam love bugs They look like cars coming at me. It is hard enough to see ahead when you are as old as me. My solution is to drive real slow in the right lane. I don't have to worry so much then. Plus all the nice people honk to say hello and wave when they pass me.

One way out for Magic fans -- Trade Dwight Howard for LeBron James

I admit that I think LeBron is a great basketball player. Maybe the best. But I would not want him on our team. I would rather beat him than root for him. I would never recommend giving up or even replacing a great player and great person like Dwight for a scum sucking dirt bag like LeBron James. Just sayin'.

MATURE MAGIC FANS WITH REALISTIC IDEAS ONLY

You youngsters need to look at the super Cougar homes. Old folks homes are just like high school, except the girls say yes.

MATURE MAGIC FANS WITH REALISTIC IDEAS ONLY

Ok, I only want to talk with people who are mature like me, that means at least 62 years old, and those who are really smart with a good working recollection of the Fort Wayne Pistons. I get sick of all of these young punks on this board who haven't even retired yet. These are the young dumb masses who don't know how to spell LOL properly. You young whippersnappers are always coming up with stupid trade ideas, like the guy who thought it would be a good idea to bring Arenas in. I think his name was Otis. We just can't keep listening to dumb ideas like that. I am both mature and realistic. I know exactly what this team needs to be successful. It needs heart and hustle plus skill and muscle. That is something that can be developed by playing our younger players more, and quit using the philosophy that the people making the most money should be playing the most. Maybe if Rashard Lewis had sat on the bench for a while behind Anderson it would have caused him to be a more aggressive player. It is not a sign of maturity to agree with everyone else's dumb ideas. We need to have confidence in our own dumb ideas. But we should all agree on certain things: 1. We don't need a turnover first point guard. 2. Our penetrate, then shoot a three pointer game plan would work better if we had a shooter who was good enough to make the 3-point contest. 3. Losing D12 would not be the end of the world. We will likely find a way not to win a championship even if he isn't here. 4. I forgot. Remember, I am 62 and this is hard for me. I am looking forward to hearing from another mature fan like me. The nurses will let me back on the computer tomorrow.

The "Official" Orlando Magic Appreciation Thread

I am looking forward to next year, my 22nd season of going to at least 30 games a year, and more in most years. This has been one of the wildest rides in all of those years. Asbestos Rain and Icewater cancelled games. Roster changes were on the fly, during the season, instead of during the summer. For the first time, a starter from before came back and started again. Our draft pick sat all season. The roster changes were draws for the most part, exchanging one useless expensive piece for another useless expensive piece. Hated losing Gortat, but it was probably worth it to lose Carter. The highlights: 1. Amway Center. This place met my high expectations. The jumbotron redefined jumbo. i will always remember the first time I saw it show Howard slamming the ball in "all screen mode". Lots of food choices, and TABLES. Yes, places to put your food. Even cup holders. That had to be worth a few of the mega millons for the place. 2. D12 was again incredible. Forget Penny, Tmac, and all the rest. D12 is the best to ever don a Magic uniform. Every time he rejected a shot into the 8th row I just wondered at how lucky we are to have him. 3. JJ Redick DUNKED THE BALL. A two-hander. A shame it happened when it did, just minutes before the end of the series. Brought me to mind of the first 3-pointer that Shaq made. In retrospect it was a good year. We made the playoffs, something that we have missed many years in the past. And when you think about it, our franchise has been in the finals twice in 21 years. Not bad, considering that the finals have been dominated by a few teams. And we will be back there, hopefully soon, but surely someday. Things could be a lot worse. We could be the Clippers, or Minnesota, or Vancover (God rest their souls.). I am really sad that the season is over, but I am also glad to get rid of the itchy beard. I hope the Magic come up with something better next year. I will be back, and believing again next year. Too bad we couldn't clone the heart and hustle team with this year's team. Just where is the next Darrell Armstrong gonna come from. I can't wait.

    We will win this series!

News flash. The Magic have decided to forfeit. They have become convinced that no matter what they do they cannot beat the mighty Hawks. Therefore, they will just quit so that Arenas can get some more rest on his knee before the massively important pre-season opener next year. Now, back to reality.... What is wrong with all of you? It isn't over til it is over. Saying we will lose at this point is the worst possiblie display of fanhood. At least give them a chance. There have been bigger turn arounds in sports than what we are facing. Saying the odds are against us is very different than just mentally quitting when the going gets tough. Yes, I realize that it might be over tonight. But I am not going to be giving up on my hope til it is actually over. And a true fan should feel the same. If you think I am talking about you, I probably am. As for me, I am going to the game tonight with the hope and belief that the Magic will win tonight. As I will everytime I go to a game. All the stats and gloomy fears many of you have won't change it.

Is "Fear the Beard" campaign the problem?

It must be the extra weight of the beard that causes the Magic players not to be able to elevate when they take shots, and slows them down in their drives to the basket. I haven't seen anything that says that our players are going to shave before the game.
