I think Otis is in "scramble to keep job mode" trying to field a team fighting for the 8th spot in the playoffs.

Either you do this or you make Dwight take $30 million less to play somewhere else. There is no compromise to wed us to 5 years of mediocrity. And fire Otis if Dwight leaves. Edit: I wonder how much Otis is going to like this team without Dwight.

Why the hell do people bother raging at him before we know what he is going to do 100%? Either way, as long as he plays through his contract, all obligations are met on his behalf. He doesn't "owe" anyone anything.

I would trade him for picks if he was leaving. But that doesn't seem to be the discussion. It's more about a fringe all star and players who fill roster spots 3-6. That would be awful. Edit: And I am not saying you are one of those advocating for the terrible trade.

Perhaps I mistook the tone of the some of those proposing trade ideas. Either way, why trade him for middling players with contracts that will do nothing but hold us back and talent that will leave us fighting for eighth seed at best.

I simply don't get why people are so eager to trade the best freaking player in the NBA for a pile of mediocrity guaranteed to leave us in a cap/drafting situation that will lead us no where. Oh yeah, let's give up our best leverage in the process of even considering such a thing.

I have to idea the answer to this, but is it a crime not to report a crime? Does it change with regard to abuse?

I put this in another post. It starting me thinking about what hurts or causes the most regret in Magic fans as we are looking down the barrel of another epic loss with Dwight's potential departure. What is it for you guys? The moment that hurts the most is the CLee missing the layup after being held by Kobe for that split second.

1. Rafer year. Those moments in the playoffs, esp. the Cavs series were epic. 2. Heart and Hustle 3. Penny and Darrell vs. Heat Of all the Magic players, moments and thoughts of what was lost, the biggest ache in my heart is for Penny, not Shaq, Tracy, Grant Hill or even Dwight potentially. I get the most regret when I think back to Penny.

Gone. I too have been a bit grated by his tone since the season ended. It has progessed gradually to a "woe be me" tone more and more. I'm a fan of Dwight and will be when(if) he leaves, but be a man about it and say straight up why you are doing it and stop trying to spin media attention in your favor. Once your contract is up, you have no obligation to anyone but yourself. But man, what a sucker punch for Orlando and the Magic franchise. They built this new arena, get a lockout cancelled season (potentially) and may end up with a blown up roster that will be playing for the top picks in the draft for years to come. I have a hard time season fans that have left due to the lockout coming back and supporting the Magic en masse with a situation like that.

I remember talking heads discussion a possible future lockout a year or so ago. They were citing bloated contracts to players being the issue (non-injury related). They cited Joe Johnson and Andre Iguodala as examples. I remember thinking: "How are those contracts the players' fault?" The owners are undisciplined with their spending and it gets them into trouble and they seek to limit the mistakes they can make by taking more and more predetermined income from the players in order to bind their own hands when it comes to offering contracts.

Lockout = owner's fault. Don't say "shame on players being greedy". Either the money goes to the billionaire owners or the the millionaire players.

He's not racist, just done with black quarterbacks that don't play an entire game.
