2017-2018 Official Season Discussion Thread
IronMaiden replied to Fultz4thewin's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
It was just a bad draft. Sucks that we had a #5 overall pick and the board turned to crap as soon as our turn is up. Same with this years draft. Board instantly turns to crap when Orlando is on the clock. And 2014 draft just hurts. Aaron Gordon is a pretty good player and all, but Embiid got taken right before us. I guess we just need to tank harder and/or get luckier in the lottery. -
Orlando Magic vs Portland Trailblazers
IronMaiden replied to TheNameIsOrlando's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Our bench looked better than our starters last night. Simmons really needs to be on the floor. Portland going on that 17-0 run before half really killed this game. It was just pathetic how many times they turned the ball over during that stretch. -
I'd love to see Kyrie Irving in Magic blue. Shame we have jack crap to offer anyone since our team is utter trash, but it's nice to dream.

I've been a fan since 92, and I'm as discouraged as I ever have been. To suffer through last season and to suffer through the several last seasons only for us to get the 6th pick and JUST miss out on getting Fox, who was in my opinion the last franchise-changing player in the draft. Well it just sucks. On top of that our front office clearly doesn't have the slightest clue what they're doing. I can take losing seasons if it's building to SOMETHING, but the last few seasons were just a complete waste of time.

What is this guy Hennigan doing? Just about every move he's made has been awful. I was excited when we drafted Sabonis. I thought we were building a nice young team with some actual options. Then we trade for Serge fricking Ibaka. What?! I guess we have Mario Hezonja and Elfrid Payton still....LOL...good lord this season will be more painful than the previous seasons. Changes need to be made. This guy doesn't have a clue what he's doing in my view.

Well this was weird and unexpected. Gonna be an interesting off-season.

Expectations/Predictions for the 2015-2016 Season

Yeah, hopefully I'm wrong and we're better than my prediction than the other way around. -
Expectations/Predictions for the 2015-2016 Season
IronMaiden replied to HeHateMe's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I predict a 6-8 seed. Which isn't very good in this conference, but it would be progress. I predicted a 7/8 seed last year. With the talent we have on the roster I feel like we should be a top 5 team in the east pretty soon. -
Who from the "good ole days" is still here?
IronMaiden replied to You're Fat, Pat!'s topic in Orlando Magic Forum
How long has this forum been around? I seem to remember reading it (but not posting) back when we still had Pat Garrity and T-Mac. I could be mistaking it for a different message board though. -
We really really do. They're lame ducks out there just like their coach.

Just wanted to start a game thread here one time. Let's do this. :creaturedance: Preview from ESPN.com: http://espn.go.com/nba/preview?gameId=400578415 The Milwaukee Bucks are feeling good after earning back-to-back wins for the first time in two seasons. Another victory could be hard to come by with a visit to Orlando up next. The Bucks try to avoid a 17th consecutive road loss to the Magic on Friday night. Milwaukee (4-4) is back at .500 after beating Memphis 93-92 on Saturday and Oklahoma City 85-78 on Tuesday. O.J. Mayo led the way with 19 points off the bench as the Bucks held the Thunder to 33.3 percent shooting. "A lot of people won't remember November or December, they only talk about March and April," coach Jason Kidd said. "So for us, we need to stay in the moment and continue to work hard, trust one another, understand we haven't achieved anything and stay hungry." The Bucks haven't won three in row since a four-game run Feb. 26-March 4, 2013. "With veteran teams, they can sometimes turn it on and off. But for us, we have to be consistent," said Brandon Knight, averaging a team-leading 17.4 points. "We have to build the right habits. As a younger team, we have to do it each and every day." Knight has averaged 21.0 points in leading Milwaukee to back-to-back wins over the Magic, but both those games came at home. The Bucks have been outscored by an average of 13.2 points at Orlando since winning 111-105 on Dec. 29, 2004. The Magic (3-6) return home after closing a 1-2 road trip with Wednesday's 97-95 win at New York. Evan Fournier scored a career-high 28 points after finishing with 24 in a 104-100 loss at Toronto the night before. "It's good to see us bounce back like we did," forward Tobias Harris told the team's official website. "That's good to see because we really played some good basketball in these two games. It shows us taking the right step and making the push as a team." Fournier has been a big part of that since coming over from Denver in exchange for Arron Afflalo in June. The 22-year-old Frenchman, who averaged 7.4 points in his first two seasons, has scored 18.2 per game to rank just behind Nikola Vucevic's team-leading 18.7. "Evan is playing great for us and he's making plays for himself and for other people," Vucevic said. "And he's still new to the team, so he's only going to get better and more comfortable." While Victor Oladipo's much-anticipated debut could push Fournier to the bench, the second-year guard isn't expected back for this game. Oladipo has been sidelined with a facial fracture suffered four days before the season started. Harris, acquired from Milwaukee in a six-player trade in February 2013, is averaging 24.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in two home games against his former team. He's averaging 16.9 points this season. The Bucks are averaging an NBA-best 46.4 points off the bench -- 20.3 more than the Magic -- and are near the top with a defensive rating of 94.2, the number of points allowed per 100 possessions. Orlando ranks in the middle of the pack at 103.9. At 6-39, Milwaukee owns the league's second-worst road record since the start of last season. Only the Magic have been worse at 6-41.

GAMETHREAD: Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers
IronMaiden replied to Franchero MVP's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Great for these young guys to finally get a W. Hopefully once we get Oladipo we really get things rollin -
Well yeah, but I'm still pretty disgusted with the effort to be honest.
-
Guys just standing around. It's terrible. I'm a lifelong KU guy so obviously I've cut Jacque Vaughn a lot of slack but this team looks confused on both ends of the floor.
-
I don't care if we suck, I just wanna see all out effort. Right now it's like "Oh a screen. Guess my dude's just gonna have an open shot."
