Don’t know what it would take, but give me Jrue!

I don't know. He's done this in the past before where he'll average 20-22ppg for 7 or 11 or whatever games. Step one is figuring out if he's averaging 20ppg or if his scoring is just a 14 game stretch averaging 24 propping up his numbers. Step two is figuring out if this is a phase or if this is the result of playing in his proper role and benefiting from the pressure fultz puts on a defense. If this is the result of fultz, that's a good thing. I'd be more confident in this continuing.

I'm fine with it even being a huge AG fan but the return has to be substantial. No lateral moves or moves that mean we remain a 6-8 seed.

I’d be open to something like Augustin and Gordon for Jrue Holiday and NAW. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=vp8978u I’m not sure they’d throw in NAW but this trade would help both teams. For us, it would greatly improve our playmaking and allow Fournier to move to SF and Isaac to move to PF. Plus, it’d allow us to move on from Fournier this summer if we wish. For New Orleans, it’d allow them to go younger and hedge against losing Ingram next summer. Gordon is on a killer contract that any team would covet. Thoughts?

It is temping and I see your angle as far as balance of rotation goes, but Holiday is going on 30 and Reddick is 35. I would like some youth or pick to sweeten the pot for a very solid role player at 24 with a good deescluating contract.

I was thinking about this a lot last night. I bet we don't make any "big" trades. The second we spent a first rounder on JJ or a JJ caliber player we're destroying that asset from a future value perspective. If our ultimate goal is to save stuff for a Blockbuster trade we need to save picks or convert them into rookies to throw in to whatever the next Anthony Davis trade is. That means not trading for role players despite what they'd provide for us in the short term. Maybe we can swing a trade for a Malik Beasley type guy but I don't know why Denver would want a draft pick vs consolidating their depth into an upgrade. And we're not in the position to trade one of our guys for 2 players.

See this is realistic, basically two expirings and a first round pick. Only way to get something is to give something. JJ would be a great addition. They are almost sure to trade Favors so maybe weltham can get them to take Aminu instead.
