I think Augustin deserves a lot of credit. Obviously he is not a starter in this league, but he's done an admiral job and has been one of our most consistent players. Much love to DJ! I would like to keep him as our backup or mentor some young talent.

Hire Jay Wright and draft Bridges and Brunson

Lol why do you hate Porter so much. Before surgery he was arguably the top player in this draft, guaranteed top 2 pick. He is that good. If he passes the physical and everything checks, he’d be a great selection outside the top 5 picks

I'm on team no draft. Just free agency.

If the league wants to retain the ratings and cash cow that is the lottery, all they need to do to prevent tanking is give every team in the lottery the same odds. Put every teams name in the hat and draw them out one by one. Sure that gives a brink play off team like the Clippers and Pistons the same chance of landing a good player as the Suns and Hawks, but that should give teams the incentive to try and compete and get better rather than wallow and tank. As for us, it does seem like the best move for us to try and get the highest pick possible. We look to have our two forwards in Isaac and Gordon, so if we could solve our center problem with Ayton or Bamb, or grab a guard like Doncic or Young, then that could be another piece to the puzzle. I would hope then that we would try and get better and compete rather than spend another season tanking for another high pick. What this team needs to do is take a page out of the Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat's book. All three have managed to rebuild without tanking and maintain a positive culture and style of basketball that helped them in bad years and is now still present in their good year. If we change head coach we need to make sure they build a positive culture even if we are bad again next season because that should set the foundation for prolonged success when we do turn the corner.

I also think tanking is bad for the league and would love to see it solved. But, as of now, tanking is popular among owners of teams not doing well. Five teams this year alone, one of which got fined. The League has done a terrible job addressing the problem. Probably because the lottery setup is a cash bonanza with ratings and PR benefits. Tanking will continue, and fans will expect it if their teams have no chance at the playoffs. Why, because the reward is worth the risk. The facts back up the fact that if you finish in the top 3, or if your odds increase the fact that you will get a top 3 pick, your team, more than likely, ends up with a really good player. Not all but more All Stars come out of the top 3 picks than all the rest of the picks. Next year's changes will not stop tanking. They may change how you tank but the top 3 picks will still have the best chance at getting the best picks. If we are truly tanking this year, and it appears we are, I applaud that move because of our unique circumstances this year (injuries). I think it should be a thought out process balancing building a winning culture, developing your young players, and adding talent through the draft. Because of our salary cap restrictions, the draft this year is our best avenue to build a better team. A year or two from now it might be different as salary cap sapce become available. But tnking this year is a great move!

wisdom says Doncic, BUT I'd throw caution to the wind and draft Young that's my personal choice but I could very well be proven wrong in 6 years. I just think his game is really exciting and would love to watch him play here

there ain't a player in this draft that would sell more tickets than Trae Young

I wonder if Trey Burke should be a possibility. I know, I know. He's not a good defender, his play hasn't really translated to winning in NY, and he's producing in very limited minutes. But pickings are thin in the youngish PG market. He's still just 25, and he seems to have at least the offensive side of the ball figured out. To the point if he could sustain what he's done this season over starter minutes he'd be considered an All-Star calliber offensive player. I suppose my thinking is that if we get a good defender at SG (like, say, Mikal Bridges) and at C, his defense would be less of a problem. At that point, is he at least worth taking a chance on?

I personally don't think we could have done much better for ourselves because we never got lucky in the draft (e.g. the year we fell one spot it cost us Porzingis). However, we did make some mistakes like trading away Saric for Payton, and Oladipo/Sabonis for Ibaka. Neither trade was a major step forward for us and while I could understand the Ibaka trade, I personally would not have made either trade. With that said, teams have managed to rebuild without tanking. Utah's highest pick on their roster is Exum. Their star duo were taken outside the top ten (Mitchell) and late in the first round (Gobert) by Denver and traded to Utah. Their other main talent were either drafted outside the main picks, second round, went undrafted, or were acquired through trades and free agency. Denver are another team that has managed to rebuild without tanking and top picks. So rebuilding a roster without tanking can be done, but for whatever reason our front office has not been able to rebuild this team. Fingers crossed our new front office can rebuild this team, otherwise we have many more years of lottery basketball to look forward to like the Sacramento Kings have done for the past decade plus.

Your skin is so thin that a simple question is throwing bricks. You don’t have an answer and all you do is complain over, and over, and over...that’s all I’m pointing out.
