harveycoolbreeze 5 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 I said could be the next Jordan his game resembles mikes athleticism. Now is it probable not likely but I'd still like to trade down and take his potential over mclemore or Burke.
Soul Bro 1,422 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 I believe I posted this in the old draft thread but it's worth reposting. According to Kevin's Pelts WARP research, the following players stand out as number 1 and 2: 1. Nerlens Noel, C, Kentucky Big board rank: 1 | 4.0 projected WARP (1) What both like (WARP and Scouts): Before his ACL injury, Noel scored far and away as the best prospect in this draft. The difference between his WARP projection and the No. 2 prospect (Georgetown's Otto Porter) is as large as the gap between Porter and No. 7. 2. Otto Porter, SF, Georgetown Big board rank: 4 | 3.1 projected WARP (2) What both like (WARP and Scouts): Porter's all-around game will ease his transition to the NCAA. Compared to other small forwards in my database, Porter is among the top 25 percent in six key categories and does not have a single statistical weakness (among the bottom 25 percent). Plus Porter is nearly seven months younger than Muhammad. http://insider.espn....ammad-overrated
Catman 380 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 I think Mclemore could be a star player in the NBA. The more I watch this guy, I think he has the most star potential in the draft. 1. His stroke is technically perfect 2. His athleticism is insane 3. He can get to the hole already and this is with pretty limited handle (which I think he can improve). I also know the negatives. I think we all do by now. But the Kansas system is very team oriented. I never saw them run a lot of plays for him like he could get in the NBA. When you can shoot like this guy and leap out of the gym, the potential for growth is there. I am saying all this because if we did grab him I would actually be pretty excited to see him develop. The NBA is such a wing game now that having a shooter like this guy would not suck. The Magic need a 3 point shooter pretty badly. Plus there is no sure guarantee we win the lottery. Also, this weekend I heard that the Magic are planning to use their TPE to facilitate potential 3 way trades this summer. Basically if Dwight gets traded to HOU or Brooklyn (example scenarios) and Rob sees where the TPE can be used to help get a team under the cap to complete the trade, he will jump on it and try to get a 2014 pick in return. The whole thing is pretty complicated which is why I thank god we have a competent staff to crunch the numbers, but basically I was told that TPE is super valuable in situations like this and that the Magic completed their Dwight trade a month earlier but waited on the paperwork so the TPE would be available to dangle the entire summer. The magic could even come at the Lakers as well who could really use the cap relief if they want to keep Dwight and sign a FA. There are a lot of options, but basically Rob has used Dwight twice..once to acquire our young core and the TPE, and then again this year to capitalize on teams going after him. It's freaking genius and could end up resulting with us staring at 3 picks in next years draft.

I remember when he was young and people were flourishing with remarks as the next... Where is he now? Please stop with comparisons.
CTMagicUK 1,491 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 McLemore makes me think of Jason Richardson. Both good shooters and athletes, Richardson never made an All-Star game and I'm not entirely sure McLemore will.

Both good shooters and athletes, Richardson never made an All-Star game and I'm not entirely sure McLemore will. Jrich in his prime was a pretty good player. Also a slam dunk champion. But he could never create for himself which is oddly enough the same problem with BMAC.

They're trains seem to be on the same tracks unless McLemore can dramatically improve his ability to create for himself.
HeHateMe 697 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 I said could be the next Jordan his game resembles mikes athleticism. Now is it probable not likely but I'd still like to trade down and take his potential over mclemore or Burke. What potential? He's older than both of those guys and never averaged more than 13 points a game in college. I'm not sure what "potential" everyone sees in Victor ths guy will always be a defensive specialist in the NBA and that's that. Not saying he won't be a valuable player but to say the kid has more "Potential" than Noel and McLemore is insane.
