2022-2023 Season Thread

So here's a question: we've seemingly turned a corner. We started 5-20. Let's say we end the season 42-15 to have a 47-35 record (good enough probably for the #5 seed).

Does Mosley get strong consideration for Coach of the year for the dramatic turnaround? Or does the start become too much to overcome vs. whomever is the best team in the league is?

Heard something Magic fans will find funny. Jacques Vaughn is a coach of the year candidate!

Frank Vogel also won a title after being terrible with us.

Some coaches excel at coaching stars, others excel with young players. Just the way it is.

Doc Rivers, for example, comes up short a lot of times when he has a stacked team, but does really well when all his stars are injured.

47-15? You sir, are the greatest optimist ever! Kudos! For a team with such a low winning percentage the last few years and being the third youngest team, going .500 from now till the season is over would be a great achievement.

Lets say we stay healthy, being between 35 and 40 wins would be massive. Even riding high right now we only have 13 wins. I think we are the next Memphis. I watched them destroy the Suns last night. Expect big things next season but the best we can do is be play in eligible, and that's great!

The Magic put him in a bad spot, still would have fired him.

If we go 42-15 the rest of the season, he should hands down be coach of the year, but we’re Orlando so no one will care lol

We're already 8-1 for that period. So we would need to go 39-14 the rest of the way, essentially winning a little more than 2 out of every 3 games. If we play like we've been playing and no one of significance get injured, we very much can do that.

I don't believe there's any chance we go 42-15 to end the season but if we did Mose should win Coach of the Year. Whether he actually would would be down to how much press it got etc.

If we finish the season like that though I honestly won't care what anyone in the press says or thinks or who wins what award because a 5th seed who's best two players are 21 and 20 with a young coach, tons of flexibility and 2 first round picks this summer would be actual dream land.

January is almost here and this is our schedule:

Jan 4 vs OKC, Jan 5 vs MEM

Jan 7 @ GS, Jan 9 @ SAC, Jan 10 @ POR, Jan 13 @ UTAH, Jan 15 @ DEN

Jan 20 vs NO

Jan 21@ WAS

Jan 23 vs BOS, Jan 25 vs IND

Jan 27 @ MIA, Jan 28 @ CHI, Jan 30 @ PHI

Total Games: 14

Every team has a better record than the Magic except the Wizards that have the same record that we have at 13 - 21

The good thing right now is that we are playing ball as good as anybody....so we have a 50 / 50 chance to win every game

In order to make ground in the standings we must win 7 or 8. Not easy but we will be watching !!!
