More Celtics complaining about the loss to Magic

Recommended Posts

Shaquille O'Neal fouled out in only 13 minutes of playing time Saturday during the Celtics' loss to the Magic, and he wasn't happy with the officiating after the game.

"I guess they came out to see No. 26 today," O'Neal said. "... He was a great player out there today."

Official Bob Delaney was the only person wearing No. 26 on the floor Saturday.

"They [fans] paid all that money to watch No. 26 play," O'Neal said. "If I was a fan, I would be pissed. You pay all that money for good seats, you have two of the best guys in the [NBA] sitting on the bench, out of the game. That is what happens when you have control freaks out there."

Orlando's Dwight Howard picked up five fouls, including a technical, while being held to six points in 33 minutes.

"It's just two good guys going out there hard," O'Neal said of his battle with Howard. "I just wish we had the opportunity to play."

Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said Howard was frustrated.

That fat piece of crap could have fouled out in the 1st or 2nd quarter if you ask me. I'm not sure how he's complaining about the officiating, when it seemed it was pretty one sided at least for the first half or so. I saw him get away with two arm full extension pushes of Howard on the offensive side of the ball.

The no calls on the Celtics defense always piss me off. They foul more than any other team I've ever seen since the bad boy Pistons and early 90's Knicks. The rulebook the way it is should have most of the C's fouled out by the half, but the NBA always lets them get away with hand-checking, shorts pulling, and jersey holding/grabbing. I hate that damn team.

I hate Boston fans the most. I thought the old James Cavs fans were bad, but notihing compared to the Bostons. LOL at old shaq- he was hacking on Howard the whole, he should have fouled out sooner. Will Shaq be assessed a $25,000.00 fine for critizinng the refs? Dwight would have.

This should be a decent sized fine for Shaq. This goes back to the NBA not knowing how to officiate big guys and focusing only on the perimeter players. You sneeze on a guy out there and it's a foul, if they ram into you it's a foul on you, if a big guy like Shaq or Dwight have people hanging off them there is no call half of the time. The only thing that is consistant is the big guys (and the teams that depend on them) get screwed.

It was bad for him to cuss on live TV, but he is right! People pay a lot of money to go to the games and the refs do sometimes try to take over the game.

In general college refs are much better than NBA refs so there is a lot less complaining. I don't understand how people can get clobbered and get no call and then on the other end some ticky-tack foul gets called on the next play

He did say the officiating was bad on both sides. He complained about the foul trouble on Dwight as well.

LMAO. Shaq is a funny guy, but he's going have something in the mail for him tomorrow.
