Potential Bigs We Can Acquire? (Post-Trade Deadline Edition)

Recommended Posts

Pacers fans were so happy to see Murphy traded. There reason: The guy is a hack defensively, allows his player to go passed him every possession and he lacks any desire to try and play defense.

I say hell no! Guy can not get mins for the Nets even.... and they have Kris f'in Humphries as there starter.

Troy Murphy - no frkn way...we need bulk not a finesse 4...

...we need a big that weighs 260+ range and at minimum 6-10 just to be able to handle the weight and height of the Boston bigs once Perkins is back ...or if a little under those sizes they have to have very very good defensive skills

- we caught a slight break in that the refs kept Shaq and Dwight out of the game but once KP is back thats two gigantic bodies coming at Dwight and whomever is the back up... during playoffs KP (6-10 280) will be starting and Shaq (7-1 325) coming off the bench

...I think best realistic options for that are:

(1) J Foster 6-11 250 - $6.6M expiring

(2) D Diop 7-0 280 - $6.5 3yr

(3) K Brown 6-11 270 $.85M expiring

I think Chris Wilcox would be a solid addition to our team as a backup C.

I thought Chris Wilcox was OK too. Detroit could entertain it, seeing as we have a TE and they are only 6 mil over the cap. And it doesn't seem like he is getting much burn either.

Chris Wilcox 6-10 220

Wilcox is really a PF that can play some center (in a pinch but not for extended minutes)- and that is the main reason why he can't get minutes in Detroit because Maxiel who is also a PF is shorter (6-8) but at 260 can body up centers better than Wilcox. He is a very bad defender that gets pushed around down low and has nowhere near the body size/strength to defend Boston's bigs.

113 Def Rtg - thats terrible

Hollinger:

+Poor defender who gives up position easily and gets caught napping in help D

"his season also included the usual assortment of defensive mix-ups, which is the main reason it's tough for him to earn minutes. The irony is that he's a much better player than most fifth big men; he just can't do the things (guard the post, defend at the end of quarters) that most fifth bigs are asked to do"

if you like DRTG so much, you might want to research the better part of the list being suggested in this thread.
