When Hedo Turkoglu made his return to the Orlando Magic, he figured it would take some time before he reached the same level as his previous stint in Orlando.

 

“I haven’t been in this role for a year and a half,” he said last week.

 

Turns out, Turk’s playing even better than he was before.

 

He’s filling up the stat sheet the way he used to — 12.2 points, 5.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game — but he’s shooting a higher percentage and turning the ball over less than he did during his previous years in Orlando.

 

He’s shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 43.3 percent from three-point range, which leads the team.

 

And he’s doing it while using just 16.4 percent of Orlando’s possessions. He used 23 percent of Orlando’s possessions in his last year with the Magic.
