I think Boise St. is proof that a system where analysts determine actual physical rankings, the system will eventually fall apart. Thankfully, the NBA doesn't employ such a system, making the pre-rankings no more valid than anyone else's.

Not to mention that Orlando hasn't really done much to prove that they deserve a pick to the average joe. Yeah, we watch the magic all season and see that they are clearly a championship team, but when you look at it from a non-magic fans eyes, all they see is this: Dwight Howard.

 

With the Lakers, they see: two previous championships. Boston: Finals appearance last year, and they have a visible excuse in 09.

 

The Heat: anywhere LeBron goes, they're going to put his team as a contender. Even if he went to Toronto.

 

Don't really care though. This is expected. Heat are the Cavaliers and everything else is the same.

Why would they pick us? We lost in the eastern conference finals last year. We haven't done anything to prove we're going to win a championship (yet). You cannot really be mad that they picked Lakers or Boston, two teams that went to the finals last year.

 

It does suck that the Heat are getting more love, but thats what you get when 3 of the top 10 players in the league join forces.
