Wow, I lived in Brooklyn for two years and I can't think of anything cool pertaining to the borough. The Kings would've been a cool idea (Brooklyn is in Kings county), but that name is already taken. There are sharks in the waters, so maybe the Brooklyn Sharks? It could also have an unofficial name of Loan Sharks, Stern would LOVE that!

Brooklyn Kings

New Orleans Jazz

Utah Grizzlies

Sacramento Hornets

Memphis...think of a name, nobody will care anyways.

On a serious note, I think "New York Nets" is just fine. Nets, Mets and Jets reunited in the Big Apple.
