  1. LOL Well you learn something new everyday. Still I don't think Yi would come to Orlando, mostly because of what emory was saying. By the way how old is this guy? NBAdraft.net says he's 24 but Yahoo says he's 37. I know 24 is probably the right number, but 24 is nowhere near 37. I would understand if they said 34 or 25 but where did they get 37 from??? quote: Mil - Yi Jianlian, PF: Thirty-seven-year-old Yi Jianlian heads to Milwaukee,... http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/draft?analysis=1
  2. There is no way that Otis would match $15 Million. That just makes it easier for him to sign RL and forget about Darko. (I'm not saying that they would offer that but they might...)
  3. .... I see. I hear Bogut is half Serbian though... (I feel so stupid, how could I forget the #1 draft pick)
  4. I don't mean this in a negative way. But I hear Australia has one of the best women basketball players. I think this is one of the first times I heard about an Aussie playing in the NBA. Is it?
  5. That's what many said last year. And they were still terrible.
  6. Umm... I hear Yi want's to be in a town with a big Asian influence... Does Orlando have any Asians?? (I've never been in Florida, I'm just guessing there's not a lot of asians down there).
  7. JRich is more of a SF. This means that the Cats will NOT go for GWall. That $15Mill is more than enough to sign Darko. I'd still be worried... And I think that Yi will be asking for a trade next season.
  8. As long as we get Darko!!!!
  9. quote: Originally posted by SpankyRigor:get ready for major minutes Mr. Terry... (in the D-league, that is) By the way what ever happened to that second round pick we had last year? I haven't thought about Augie since we fired BHill
  10. I had never heard of this kid (I don't really watch college). When I watched his highlight reel, on Yahoo, it showed the same shot 3 times. It was like 5 min long but only had like 5 highlights. Very dissappointing. From looking at his stats it looks like he's got good shot %. I think he'll make a good bench player. In time Darko will teach him how to block, Dwight will teach him how to rebound and Ariza will show him how to embarrass the competition. For a second round pick, I think it's pretty good.
  11. I'd rather have cap space (and a CHANCE to get RL) than Koponen.
  12. quote: Originally posted by christophergentry110401:As much as this SUCKS it has to make those Gerald Wallace fans happy. The only reason I'm all for Gwall is because then we have a bigger chance of signing Darko. I still have hope that we can get both Darko and Lewis though.
  13. quote: Originally posted by Nyce_1:if we drafted in the first round, it would've gone against our cap. Exactly, We want to get Darko and Lewis, why would we get the 24th pick?? We should trade our remaining pick and Hedo for some teams future 1st round pick (if this is even possible). Unfortunaly I don't see any team agreeing to this.
  14. What does this have to do with Darko? I understand that NY has two very good big men, but we shouldn't sign someone because of ONE teams lineup. We need to sign Darko regardless. We have one all star player and the rest of the team is mediocre. We NEED Darko and Rashard would be a big positive for this team.
  15. I don't think it would effect the Darko signing because Fran won't come for another year or two. And we already have a shortage of bigmen. Sure we can sign some terrible free agent, but I don't think anyone would want that.
  16. Well he still hasn't gotten major minutes off the bench. I don't see why we would start JJ unless we get rid of Grant Hill, Hedo and Dooling. Sure he'll start eventually, maybe even next season. However in the begining of the season I see him coming off the bench. He has done nothing to set himself apart from Hill, Hedo or Dooling.
  17. I think we are forgetting about Ariza agian. Which is why I don't think that that will be the starting lineup. I know that he would not start JJ. And Otis said that Ariza was an untouchable. Why would we have an untouchable coming off the bench?
  18. quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres 3:16: quote: Originally posted by bhnole:All the Sentinel writers still maintain that we can't keep Darko and get a premier FA. But when have they ever gotten a story right? According to Otis we have 17 mill roughly in cap space before signing Darko with Darko having a 15mill cap hold. If Darko is signed at 8 mill we only need to clear another 6 or 7 which Turk does pretty much on his own. If I have access to this info why is it that the Sentinel can't seem to get it? And Turk is one of those guys who "Shows flashes to getting the job done every night --" So SVG is probably on the same page as Otis
  19. It sounds like Otis wants to keep Darko and sign Lewis. quote: "Anything can be done," Smith said. "It might not be easy, but it can be done." But it sounds like SVG wants to have Lewis, quote: "Showing flashes to getting the job done every night -- that's what sets guys apart," Van Gundy said. "Everybody in this league is capable of having a great night. It's the guys that do it night in and night out that are valued." I think Otis will find a way to get both. Otis is the man.
  20. Suprise, suprise.... He's first on my list. He's got really great defense and costs a lot less then Lewis. This has nothing to do with who we should get, but we need to come up with a nickname for Rashard Lewis, I hate typing out his full name and Lewis just doesn't cut it.
  21. quote: Originally posted by mire:not spurs but timberwolves he can't pass, he's a slasher (a good one) Ya sorry my mistake. I remember looking at his NBA profile last year and there was a Spurs logo next to him. There's still a spurs logo on his profile, but his stats do say Minnesota. He was drafted in 2000 and first steped on the court in 2002-03. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/igor_rakocevic/index.html ^^ Has a Spurs logo next to him. I guess he was traded to the Spurs, IDK.
  22. He used to play for the Spurs, but he only got garbage minutes. I don't see him coming back to the NBA.
  23. The record for the most points scored by anyone at any level in a game of basketball also belongs to a 13 year old. He scored 272 POINTS!!!! Supposedly, Mats Wermelin, of Sweden, scored 272 points in one game. What's even sadder is that every other player on the court scrored 0, including the other team. It gets even worse, this was back in 1974. Now I don't know when Sweden introduced the 3 point line but the NCAA and the NBA didn't start using it until 1980. I'm guessing that this was one really really big 13 year old. quote: Highest Scoring Individual! Mats Wermelin, 13 years old from Sweden, scored all 272 points in 272 to 0 win at a regional boys tournament in Stockholm, Sweden, on Feb. 5, 1974. http://home.kc.rr.com/starrpower/sports/other.htm (It's at the bottom at the page.)
