Gortat Interview on 1080 am today

The other team will only get one shot and we will grab the board and go the other way. Well said, it has been my point this entire summer. I get flamed for saying start them together, but when you have 4 guys in the lineup that will get a ton of points, having Marcin out there for defense and rebounding is your best starting 5. DEFENSE & REBOUNDING WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS as we saw first hand against the Lakers.

I still have a large bruise on my knee from hitting the coffee table when I was running around my living room upon hearing we were going to match. Agreed, I want to see him play for Poland in the World Championships and see how he does. Might be an audition of sorts. 1) for his trade value and 2) for a potential role at power forward.

He Is doing more running, working on his footwork and adds that he can hit the jumper. 6) Said he was coming to camp to compete as the starter at power forward. You can read in to this however you want, but it seems to me if Gorat thinks this he might already know that the Magic plan on moving Lewis back to the SF position.

He said to the guy saying he was going to see Vince Carter later today that Marcin is going to come in ready to compete to START at Power Forward. Then told Vince his shoe size was 15.

I would give Robinson, Powell and Hendrix training camp invites and let them fight it out for two roster spots likely left if we be back Foyle and sign Barnes. I don't see Otis carrying 15 players when paying the tax. Bingo. Either way. I just think we need to step off the FA market and get some young guys who will practice with our guys hard, have a genuine willingness to be here, and be decent insurance for the "ifs" in Magicland. I think a Brevin Knight or a Damon Jones would be upgrades over AJ personally. I say Jones because his best year was with SVG. I would add Anthony Carter to that list. But I think out of the 3 Damon Jones is the best due to his 3 point shooting percentage and having played with a big man (Shaq) in Miami. Not to mention he was let go by the Cavs which I would think he would want to stick it to them.

    Orlando Magic Free Agency Poll

Barnes is nice, but Wafer has far more upside, shoots it better and is a lot younger.

    Projected Magic regular season record

    74-8 or 18-64
  10. I was not completely serious, but thought it would be pretty hilarious if we signed him to bench warm for the next couple years in the face of the Mavs having interest. We do have a 15 man roster so you could sign him and Foyle. But yep he is not worth it.
  11. http://www.realgm.com/src_wire...by_7_4_project_seck/ I read this over at RealGM thinking. OK we need a back up center and the way this guy is described he would be the perfect 3rd Center to groom between now and the time we trade Gortat. Not to mention hearing Mavs fans get more pissed would be priceless.

Lineup against Boston Celtics, plz discuss

Funny thought if you start Gortat the starting numbers would be: 9, 12, 13, 14, 15
  14. quote: Originally posted by Knappy: quote: Originally posted by Nathan Rule:actually i just found turks last years salary was 6.86 meaning a 120% raise would be 8.332(added 100k) / 9.4 / 10.4 / 11.5 / 12.7 If you add that up with 10.5 percent raises you get 52.33 million i rounded the numbers down...so the deal is being reported as a 52.8 million dollar deal thats pretty close. If you add 100K to 8.332 you get 8.442 - are you referring to his new contract starting at 9.4 or is your math bad? Actually you would add the 100k to either last years salary which was around $6.8 mil or the possible two traded salaries which would have been $8.232 mil with the Bird Rights raises or the $9 million with the 8% raises. Either way those are the 3 numbers that are possible. Those 3 numbers you would add an additional 100k to.
  15. quote: Originally posted by Nathan Rule: quote: Originally posted by MagicFanBen: quote: Originally posted by Nathan Rule:no i posted the link to the Orland sentinel that states its somewhere between 8 and 9 I would not use the Sentinel as a quality source. But it is between $6.9 million and a MAX of $9.1 million. I guess we will not truly know unless Otis says it to the media. The rules still apply on a trade. Only one player and only one transaction. You cannot split it up or combine it. I started this thread with the purpose so fans could see what players are really available and debate if we would actually want any at this time. I think you reading what i said wrong Ben... if it was a BYC yes 6.9 and thats probably what everyone is reporting.. you and me looking deeper realize that its higher but not 9.1 i bet its what i wrote one post up 8.332 That is why I updated the thread. I think you and I both realize it can only be one of three numbers. His last year's salary, the $8.332 or the $9 mil plus 100k on each of them. But the basic premise here, if you look at the list there are not a lot of players making over $7 mil that would actually be available. For the purpose of a decent discussion we should probably assume $7 mil or less and anything over is icing on the cake. Still though we would have to find a player that would be worth it and paid over $7 million. Just look at the list there is not many if any. Most are way over paid in the $7-9 million range.
