SONG: "KNOCK ON WOOD" Hey members, after I saw SmackDaddy's signature I came up with this idea for the Magic Nation's theme song . Smack's signature is of Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis (referred to as "Thunder and Lightning"-See Below). I was able to locate this song "Knock On Wood", which was recorded by Amii Stewart in 1979. ONE VERSE OF THE SONG GOES LIKE THIS: "I'm not superstitious about ya But I can't take no chance You got me spinnin', baby You know I'm in a trance 'Cause your love is better Than any love I know It's like THUNDER, LIGHTNING" (Sound of Thunder)[/b]... To view the Youtube video of Amii Stewart singing "Knock On Wood", click on the following link: P-L-E-A-S-E LISTEN TO THE MUSIC!!!...DON'T BE SO CRITICAL OF MISS STEWART!!! I have also included the full lyrics below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9BlvQ1JgXc&mode=related&search= LYRICS: "KNOCK ON WOOD" FANS: I don't want to lose you This good thing That I got 'Cause if I do I will surely, surely lose a lot 'Cause your love is better Than any love I know It's like thunder and lightning (Sound of Thunder) TEAM: The way you love me is frightening You better knock, knock on wood, baby FANS: I'm not superstitious about ya But I can't take no chance You got me spinnin', baby You know I'm in a trance 'Cause your love is better Than any love I know It's like thunder, lightning (Sound of Thunder) TEAM: The way you love me is frightenin' You better knock, knock, knock on wood, baby FANS: Think I better knock, knock, knock on wood (Drum Rolls) Think I better knock, knock, knock on wood

quote: Originally posted by D-BoFats:Foad, we're just the Orlando Magic. Most teams don't have nicknames at all. I don't think any team has a color nickname. We are one of the few teams that wear a blue uniform, but we don't call ourselves the blue team or anything. We just call the team the Magic. I hope that answered your question. D-BoFats, I think I know where he (Foad) got the idea that the Magic team is nicknamed "Blue". A little while back, ROCKCHALK posted a thread asking members to "Help With a Name" for our group--a name that we would like the members of this board to be called collectively. A number of our members (including myself) posted their suggestions and used the word "Blue". For example, one poster suggested the name "Blue Crew". Another poster suggested "House of Blue". I suggested "Planet Blue".

"The East got a lot tougher." In the past two months, seven-time all-star Ray Allen was traded to Boston from Seattle, Zach Randolph was dealt from Portland to New York, Jason Richardson was shipped from Golden State to Charlotte and former all-star Rashard Lewis, the hottest commodity in free agency, left Seattle to sign a nine-figure contract with the Orlando Magic. Those moves have been magnified by the addition of Garnett. quote: Travis good luck little fella ,you will be a next John Stocton. To bad our moronGM is blind or on crack.maybe both who knows. quote: Otis is a moron a fool and on top of that shows signs of arrogance and being a total inept at making deals. This name calling is totally unacceptable and needs to stop, especially calling Otis a "moron". You have a right to disagree with the way he has handled things, but personally, I don't think he or anyone else (fans, owners, etc)deserves to be called any names. Otis has at least heard you on some of your demands and has worked tirelessly to meet a few. It's like a family that orders a bucket of chicken, and everybody argues because they didn't get the piece that they like. I am a Magic fan, and I come to this board to find out what's going on with our team. I also enjoy reading posters' thoughts and opinions. But name calling is very distasteful and I get tired of seeing words like "moron" being repeated over and over. Please mods, do something about this!

ESPN officially loses all credibility

Now don't go crazy on me. The word "stupid" used here means (funny, comical, hahaha!),,, nothing negative. The reason I said that was because while I was reading along in this thread, I approached your response, when low and behold there was Knappy's old signature. WP, I have said this before, you, NBR, DJ(and some others on this board)are so-o-o-o funny at times. When least expected, something silly or a funny picture is posted by some of you. You all just crack me up Keep the jokes coming. We need it to soften the blows of all the recent negativity on this board. -
quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres:What if Dwight didn't resign because we didn't get him help? quote: Originally posted by ReeceGaines:we could kick Dwight's dog, and he still wouldn't leave Orlando he's a nice Christian boy he was going to extend no matter what; and will retire here unless we trade him We also thought that Grant Hill would never leave the Magic, and everyone was raving about what a fine guy he was. But he left, didn't he? So, what makes anyone think that Dwight would not leave the team if he didn't get help.

quote: Originally posted by Marc Acres 3:16:I respect what Aldridge says but it is very easy for him to say we could have laughed Rashard and his agent out of the office. The writers bashing that decision are not responsible for the team. None of them are stopping to think what would happen if we didn't get the perimeter scorer. What if Dwight didn't resign because we didn't get him help? What if Darko left anyway? Our roster would be Dwight, Trevor, Tony, JJ, and Jameer with Dwight most likely looking at becoming a free agent (can you see the league wide cap clearing that would happen if that were the case?) not to mention how would our record look next season as we are trying to get the arena deal passed. They didn't go about it in the best way but we had to get a scorer no matter what. I agree!...I agree!...I agree!..I agree-e-e-e-e! STAND AND CHEER...FOR YOUR ORLANDO-O-O-O-O MAGIC!

It makes no since to me that there are hundreds of threads on this board where posters are repeating the same thing over, and over, and over! What is this obsession about winning a championship? It sounds like most of you want it NOW! Am I missing something? It's nice to win a championship, but it may not happen for another 3 or 4 years. Look at some of the teams that have NEVER, EVER made it into the playoffs...let alone not win a championship...teams that have been around much longer than the Magic. I love basketball, and it is a good feeling when we win. I don't mind a few losses as long as we (the Magic) have a successful season with a lot more wins than losses. With the pieces that we have so far, I'm going to enjoy watching the high-flying athleticism of the Orlando Magic next year...because I love our team and I love basketball. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see us win a championship down the road. But for me right now, I'll settle for the first or second round in the playoffs. I'm just so excited about watching these guys play.

NBA 2007-2008 Salary Cap is Set!!!!
TrueMagicFan07 replied to star_phenom35's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by ThisIsTheYear:Guys, Rashard will most likely receive a max deal worth at MOST $90 mil. With Darko gone, we don't need to go through a sign and trade. I also don't see Otis going after another free agent this off season either. Think of this as basically a swap of Grant Hill for Rashard, since their contracts are very alike. Out: SF G. Hill In: SF R. Lewis .....works for me. ThisIsTheYear, what you just said makes a lot of sense (to me). Amid all the ramblings and complaining by other posters, I never thought about this as an even swap for talent and salary--Lewis for Hill, that is. And besides, Lewis is joining the Magic free of injuries (I hope!) Good observation -
quote: Originally posted by MagicNoles:Catman you outa line. 1st of all smoking has NOTHING to do with someones character, thats just a ignorant statement. I smoke, so what, i smoked in highschool since sophmore year. I was also a 4 year varsity letterman for basketball. What the hell does smoking have to do with my morals, or how i treat people? please explain... You for some reason belive that if a person smokes they have bad character. THats just stupid. Ooooh!!!! MagicNoles, you need to apologize to Catman when you accused him of making negative remarks about Darko having bad character because he smokes. That was MC who mentioned that Darko smokes. (See page 1 of this thread) Actually, Catman defended Darko and said that he didn't smoke. (See quote below, and Page 2 of this thread) quote: Originally posted by Catman:I really had to hold off until I read the Darko part. That is a FREAKING LIE!!! Darko is not a smoker. Yes, he parties, and likes to drink grey goose, but this is a mean spirited way to try and be an "insider" by MC. The guy is making up lies about character now!!! We need to be really, really careful and make sure we have the facts before we incorrectly accuse someone of a negative act.

Free Agent signing grades (rips Magic with F)
TrueMagicFan07 replied to ReeceGaines's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by Faux Hawk:As long as Rashard gives us what he has the last 3 years and he does not go to the injured list like Hill, this will be our best free agent signing ever. Our history shows all free agnets we have signed ended up traded or hurt. The best one remains Horace Grant. He is the only one that went deep in the playoffs with us. I'm on board with the Lewis signing, but I noticed on the Seattle team page that Rashard played a total of 60 games, which means that he missed 22 out of 82 games. Question: Were those missed games all due to injuries? If So ... 1. Is that bad? 2. Is that not a problem or concern? -

Orlando FO is negotiating a lower clause to sign Fran
TrueMagicFan07 replied to ELI's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by Knappy: quote: Originally posted by The Ghost of John Gabriel:If I understand this correctly, Fran would make roughly 2M per year for the Magic with a 3M buyout that the Magic can only pay 500k of. Unless I'm missing something, a journey to the NBA would not only be a big pay cut, but he'd be playing his first 2 season to pay off his Euro buyout. That was my understanding as well - that we can only pay $500K toward a buyout of a Foreign player - that is our maximum. So, I agree Ghost, I'm not sure how Fran can take that kind of hit. $3m Euros is almost $4m dollars. I think he needs to finish his contract out unless I am missing something here. And, I think the Magic should use her in trade - I don't want to see her in a Magic uniform, but I guess I'd give her a chance. Knappy, who is "her"? -

He also had the ball stolen quite a bit during the regular season. Grant is not a good ball handler. He is a good slasher (to the basket) but that's about all. -
