To say that the international game favors guard play is an oversimplification. It favors a '4 guard - 1 big' lineup. Yao, Bogut, and the Gasol brothers all found ways to be their teams' respective leaders, where Dwight could not.
Three guys averaged over twenty minutes per game and and four guys averaged less than fourteen. The middle five averaged between 16 and 20. Dwight was in that group. He did not receive "less playing time than most."
He did receive less time than Bosh, though, which shows that the coaches knew who was helping the team more.
He was fifth on the team in scoring, first in fouls committed.
You are right that he was the leader in blocks and among the leaders in FG% and rebounding. Bosh grabbed more boards, however. And considering Dwight's only marketable offensive weapon is the slam dunk, I would certainly hope that he has a high field goal percentage.
Hey, I'm still a fan, and I still think that there are only three answers to the question, "If you could start a franchise with one player, who?" Those would be Dwight, LeBron, and Chris Paul. I was just completely disappointed by the way he did not dominate in China. I don't think he has any good excuse.
