That's not quite true. While it may do so to a lesser degree than alcohol, marijuana does affect motor function. It's still not a good idea to do a lot of driving around when you're high even if it's not as bad as driving drunk.

MilitaryMagic, checking in.

The question is not over the addictive nature of a drug - the question is about the dangers of the drug.

Alcohol related fatalities are high in the United States and even higher in a country like the UK.

Marijuana related fatalities are inconsequential and there are no reliable figures on this.

Some may argue this is because of the difficult nature of confirming whether or not someone was under the influence of marijuana, but that in and of itself is more reason to believe that marijuana is not dangerous.

To me, it is sad that the #1 expenditure by our government on drug policy enforcement is on marijuana. With problems like meth still on the rise in rural America, it truly angers me.

Military, I could not agree more. As the United States now has more people behind bars than ANY country in the world, and most from marijuana related crimes. Home of the free. yeah right.

Sorry Junkie for the "high" jacking. (pun intended)

im not saying its a good idea...im just saying that there is no proof to suggest its dangerous. also. caffeine affects motor function as much if not moreso than pot, so by that logic coca cola or coffee should be banned on the roadway...
