Hopefully they are just keeping it a secret, but it's sounding like we've shown no more intrest in Maggette than offering him the MLE, while San Antonio and Boston the two teams who have won the last two championships are courting him harder than we are according to reports! What bullcrap is that! We should be hungrier to have him then them since we're trying to go after our first ring while the Spurs look to have a fistful and the Celtics are trying to get four firstfuls......incredible. This seems like it is being handed to us on a silver platter with the Davis signing, the fact that Philly is going after Josh Smith, and that Memphis doesn't want to spend money. Throw in the fact that he asked Magic management to make him an offer and it is a no-brainer. H ow Otis can turn his back on something so good yet so simple that a three year old could get it done baffles the mind. All he needs to do is invite him to town, schmooze him a little, have Rashard and Dwight call him on his cell, make the offer and it is done. First of all there are no reports that Maggette has visited any team in person. He just gave an interview with the Boston Globe saying he wants to win. But does he want to win and not start and be the 4th option. The report on the Spurs came from a Yahoo writer and besides that I have not seen it anywhere. I would not be surprised if all of this is just wishful thinking by the Maggette camp to get Philly or GSW to make an offer more than the mid-level. Everytime I read one of your posts I feel better. I wouldn't be worried at all if Otis didn't have such a questionable track record and if Schmitz would stop being such a downer. Or a bunch of people on a message board taking articles and blowing isolated quotes out of proportion. The boston article just said that they offered him the MLE, which he wasn't expecting. The San Antonio article said they offered him the MLE, and that they told him that he could help them get back into the title picture. And the board went nuts. I can't imagine why anyone on this board would think that we're not saying the same things, but apparently we aren't.
