Live or Die Magic 383 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Here is the link to an ESPN.com report that states Houston Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy wants the NBA Draft Lottery open to all 30 teams. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2814358 Does anyone else find it ironic that this is coming from Van Gundy? He has coached the Rockets and the Knicks. The Rockets are the team responsible for their actually being a draft lottery, considering they tanked in '83-'84 so they could get the first pick. Meanwhile, the Knicks are the team for whom it has long been rumored that the very first draft lottery in 1985 was rigged.

Emory889 353 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 LOL, the greedy bas**** already has Yao and Mcgrady. Now he wants to get his meathooks in either Durant or Oden. There is a reason its set up the way it is Jeff. The Grizzlies and Celtics need serious help. How frightening would it be if the Spurs or Mavs landed the top pick? The rest of the league would be lucky to ever win a title.
Marc Acres 3:16 418 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Gee that would be fair. How exactly does that help the league to become more competitive?
Adam_Magic 56 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 I agree with all of you, it is a crazy idea, the whole point of the lottery is to give struggling teams a chance! In sports outside the US teams dominante for decades and it makes it very boring and predictable. I love the idea of the NBA lottery, it makes it much more exciting! bhnole 153 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 As a fan, it is the only thing you look forward to when your team does not make the playoffs. Why share that and give a loaded them ANY chance of landing another superstar. Dumbest idea ever Mr. Van Dumby

Drain-O 369 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 This idea is terrible on so many levels. So if Dallas wins it all this year it would be fair for them to have the number one pick. I have always liked the idea of having the 3 worst teams just draw for picks 1-3. Its not really fair that the team with the worst record can end up with the 4th pick imho.
