    The "other 29 teams" thread.

well, i think everybody on this boards knows that i hate soft players who don't play defense like randolph but i think he's a good fit next to camby. it could work out. recently i watched some games and zach played pretty poor but i talked to some clippers fans and they were pretty satisfied with the camby-randolph frontcourt. they also said that zach is doing everything the coach tells him to do so i don't think he's that much of a cancer (anymore/yet?). but i think they're overrating him a little bit though. they are more worried about davis, he doesn't seem to fit into their system and from what i saw, i totally have to agree with that. i totally agree with you on the dunleavy part. the team has no future with him.

    The "other 29 teams" thread.

the clippers are a very interesting team. they already have a pretty well balanced team and a great trade asset - chris kaman. this year they won't do anything but they'll get a high draft pick in june. well, i guess they'll turn kaman into depth before the deadline. with camby and randolph he will be available. also they have deandre jordan on the bench who should step in when cambys contract expires in two years. let's take a look at their current lineup: PG b.davis/collins/hart SG gordon/r.davis/collins SF thornton/r.davis/ PF randolph/p.davis/skinner C camby/kaman/jordan i'm just a little bit worried about baron davis. he is 29 but i dunno, i have the feeling that he could quickly decline in the near future a la steve francis. it would be great if they could trade him for a younger PG (like the kidd-harris trade).

    Z. Randolph... I know it's too late, but.....

that's nothing new, we all knew that he's gonna play much better with a top defender like marcus camby. zach is very soft and a very poor defender. his stats may be great but his play isn't. and he's OVERPAID.

Kind of OT - Sign of a Deal? (Krstic to OKC)

Thoughts? i was never a fan of krsti? because of his poor defense and i hate poor defenders in basketball. he's pretty good on the offensive end though - he has a nice shoot, almost 3pt range. but he became very overrated. when you are a big and you play on the same team with jason kidd then you usually look much better than you really are. i think he'll do well in oklahoma (about 15ppg if he gets some PT) but i wouldn't want him in orlando. at least not for that kind of money. btw, someone mentioned his poor stats in the russian league. well, i've heard that his team sucks in general although they have some good players. they blame the coach for the poor play and poor results.

improbable trade idea(we all have 'em)

quote: Originally posted by Mr Charisma:I think the other aspect to this discussion is that, if Okur is on the trading block, other teams will be able to make offers that are superior to what the Magic can offer. We don't have high draft picks to offer, and we don't have any perceived talent outside of our top 3-5 players. So, while the Jazz might consider doing something like this if it was their only option, I'm sure that it WON'T be their only option. Which, I'm sure, is part of the reason you labeled this as improbable. i totally agree with you this is nothing against murphy but i have the feeling that some fans are forgetting that there are 29 other teams in the league and guess what, they also wanna to win. nobody's sleeping, everybody tries to get better short term or long term. so, as mr charisma already said, the other teams would have much more to offer for okur. and there's still the question why would they trade him anyway? just to shed some money? definitly not, they could let him walk in the summer too. don't forget folks, the jazz are a top team as well, i give them some chances to win it all (i doubt it though). so they'd trade him only if they feel koufos can step up and if they can get a quality player with an expiring in return. i could see a okur & harpring for marion & filler trade happening. bogans and cook don't make any sense for them. they don't make them any better.

    What About 2010 ??

Successful? I'd say so yeah... btw, i just saw elvis on the petrol station

    What About 2010 ??

welcome strepsil yeah, i remember tariq abdul-wahad. je was a solid player. i think he also played for the kings and the nuggets. to answer your question, we won't have any $$$ (besides the MLE) in 2010 thanks to shard's and meer's contracts. even if otis decides to trade them, nobody is so stupid to take them so they won't leave. and hedo will get overpaid in the offseason or he'll leave for nothing. EDIT: yeah, shaq was the 1st overall pick in the 1992 draft

Sure they have 12 million expiring contract but would they be willing enough to go over the cap and offer guys like Oden the max when their contract is up? Their owner, Paul Allen is the co-founder of Microsoft, he owns the Seahawks, and 2 of the biggest yachts in the world, each worth about as much as a small market franchise. No worries. I agree with Fendi's point, if not his reasoning. I would guess that at some point a low talent team is going to offer a player like Aldridge a ridiculous deal thinking that he can be a first banana for them, and then the Blazers are going to have serious problems keeping players together without giving out very large contracts to non-allstars. nobody's going to touch portland's talents. nobody will offer them as much money as portland can and will if necessary. oden, aldridge, roy aren't going anywhere. they'd be stupid if they lose batum and rudy, bayless and webster will only leave if somebody offers them a huge deal. portland has (one of) the best ownership, the best GM (and it's not even close), the best young coach and a very talented young team where everybody fits in perfectly. they just need to find a PG. i can see a boring dynasty coming. only injuries can stop them.

Redick 22 2008 Courtney Lee this is how the magic drafted in the last 10yrs. ok, dwight is a beast, mike miller is pretty good and harpring and clark were useful but all the others are/were awful. it's to early for lee though. so i say trade the **** pick
