Mr Charisma

You fill in roster spot #15 with a non-NBAer

Recommended Posts

The off-season is painfully slow, so I'm just throwing something out here for fun. Maybe it will catch interest; maybe not.

Otis has come to you and said that he will let you sign anyone you want to the last roster spot.

Oh, by the way, it can't be someone who's primary occupation is, or has been, or intends to be, basketball.

My choice would be Antonio Gates of the San Diego Chargers (NFL).

Here are his stats from Kent State (the MAC is a solid basketball conference). He is a 6'5", 240 lb. forward (going for a Charles Barkley type?).

SEASON---MIN-PTS-REB-AST-TO-A/T-ST-BK-PF-FG%-FT%-3P%

2002-2003 33.3 20.6 7.7 4.1 3.5 1.18 1.5 .20 2.7 .478 .709 .349

Hey, if nothing else, his turnover rate is very Magic-like.

MUSASHIMARU!

Born in Hawaii, this Sumo is 517 pds and 6-4. Dwight will never have to worry about a hard foul again with this guy watching his back.

How about Tanya Harding. Here is someone who exemplifies the true competitive spirit, who will do whatever it takes to win.

The Magic would be in a dominant position if someone would break the kneecaps of just a few players on the better eastern teams.
