NBA Offseason 2013 Thread

On another note, Maurice Harkless, Andrew Nicolson, and Doron Lamb have apparently each put on a lot of weight this summer. Nicolson always has added a 3-pointer to his repertoire.

AND BREAKING:

@ncolaf44 (Andrew Nicolson)

Speechless....

^^ WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?!

Agree with this. He is the best scorer we have, is a great athlete, and is an incredibly hard worker. All he needs is to get his handles/passing up and he's a 20/5/5 guy in my opinion. Harkless will be a lock-down defender always, but I question is offensive ability. His dribbling is just not good enough to be able to take someone one-on-one. He is a cutter/spot-up shooter who doesn't rebound considerably well nor pass the ball effectively in an offense. He's just a freak athlete who is young and long. Until his handles improv considerably, he's just another Trevor Ariza that I think is ultimately expendable in the Harris/Vuc/Oladipo mix.

That being said, I think he will develop a dribble-pull-up game with time that will make him an adequate passer.

Already analyzing how good a 20 year old will ultimately be. Do you also have tonight's winning lottery numbers? :shard:

He's young and raw. Wait until he grows into his body and becomes more coordinated. Judging by his work ethic, he has a shot to be something special. For example, he was a poor shooter from just about everywhere outside of the paint last season. Then he gradually started knocking down corner 3s at an efficient clip and now he's a legitimate threat there. If he shows that much improvement in other facets if his game, ie. ballhandling, he'll be just fine. Do i think he becomes the next Tracy McGrady? Probably not, but Paul George was very very similar at that age.

nice moves warriors. the warriors are in a good position now. they can stand pat and look pretty good, or could still try to work out a bogut/barnes deal for s&t with LAL for big dummy.

ETA: after dwight bounces from LA, and iggy has now left nuggets. we'll be the only team with anything decent to show for the original dwight deal, barring bynum actually ever being able to play again and resigning with the 76ers...

They're freeing up some cap space in the process too. Maybe Dwight is the primary target, but perhaps Josh Smith would be a Plan B? Not sure how that would work out on the court, maybe a better x's and o's guy can help out with that aspect. But they just gave up a couple of bigs, maybe Josh Smith is more attainable than Howard?

There is no way the league allows the Golden State/Utah trade to happen, LA will burn. Get screwed out of Chris Paul by having the NBA veto their trade (which also happened to be the better deal for Nola) and then allow the most lopsided trade ever happen so a team can clear space to sign Dwight away from them. Yeah, even us in Orlando would have to admit that the Lakers would have a valid reason to complain lol.

The NBA has no grounds to turn this deal down. The only reason the CP3 deal was shot down was because they were operating as owners of the Hornets. It ended up being the smarter decision for the franchise going forward anyways.
