2016-2017 Trade Idea Thread

Recommended Posts

We should tank as hard as we can but our front office is almost as inept as the Kings and Nets front offices

nah. our front office is nowhere near that level. Whatever you think about any of our moves we could hit a reset button and start over immediately. We have limited salary committed long term, all of our draft picks, and a few interesting pieces.

We're unsuccessful.

The nets are irresponsible

The kings are malignant.

big differences.

Lowe also thinks Mario/Green/#1 would've beat the NO offer.

Imagine we got Boogie for that, and still had ammo to get Butler, or other better fitting pieces.

what ammo would we have to get butler in that scenario?

apparently the lakers offer was based around Randle and Clarkson.

Talking of inept people. Mitch is not really a good gm either. He is just lucky. Lucky to work for an LA dranchise where most players eventually wish to play. That was a dumb move on his part. He should it give them what they wanted. Im glad he didnt pull that off tho. Better for us.

You're being generous. We are teetering on ineptitude.

Yea we're a little more than just unsuccessful. Events of ineptitude led to us being unsuccessful.

Yeah but Henny can't build around a dominate player.

I think it would take more than that though.

when has he demonstrated he can't?

Trading for Ibaka, then trading him away and then saying he'd do it again aaannnd last night. Literally had the most dominant player available. I've always wondered if he's capable of a big trade he wins on.

He still got 3 more days though. Let's see.

sure. Harris trade was inept. cashing in on Ibaka for a solid deal when we figured he was leaving was not inept. trying to win while simultaneously sticking Gordon at a new position and the continued development of payton was myopic.

but there's a huge difference between that and trading all of your picks for 36 year olds for a two year window that corresponds with the Miami heat big 3.

and there's a huge difference between both of these things and trading your recent lottery pick and two future firsts for the ability to sign rajon rondo and kosta koufos and then trading your superstar player so you can tank during a year when you don't control your pick.

Ibaka is not a dominate player.
