Official 2015 Draft Thread

Most likely scenario is he is there at 5

Based on what? Is Okafor really better than Porz? Muiday? Winslow? The only 2 guys I wold 100% take over Porz would be Towns and Russ. And that's mainly because I think their floors are still pretty high. I think if 4 teams pass on him, we will be getting the steal of the draft.

A story circulating Monday indicated the Lakers were trying to acquire Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, a potential deal that could include a third team, such as the Magic, and involve Los Angeles' No. 2 overall pick in the first round.

It is a deal the Lakers could potentially pull off on July 1, when they finally get salary-cap space. It would require that they draft a player with the No. 2 pick, sign him and then trade him.

But Vlade Divac, Sacramento's top front-office executive, told the Sacramento Bee on Sunday that trading the 24-year-old Cousins, who is to make $14.72 million next season, "is not happening."

The Magic's part in the deal could involve sending center Nikola Vucevic to the Kings. But an Eastern Conference executive said Orlando had no interest in doing that deal. http://www.latimes.com/sports/nba/la-sp-nba-draft-20150623-story.html

arl has been recruiting Kings vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac and multiple players on the Kings' roster to unite with him in making the case to owner Vivek Ranadive that Cousins needs to be traded, league sources said.

Since the end of the 2014-15 season, Cousins has become aware of Karl's campaign to move him – including teammates telling Cousins, sources said. All around the Kings and Cousins, there is a growing belief the coach-player relationship is irreparable. Trust is a constant theme with Cousins, and he's been unable to build any with Karl, sources said.

No one in the Sacramento organization – not coaches, nor players, nor support staff – wants to imagine the combustible scenario awaiting Karl and Cousins should the Kings try to reunite them in training camp.

Guys, step back and actually think about it for a second: the Lakers have basically no assets. Like, literally none. They can't trade a pick until at least 2020, possibly longer. They have two players with positive value on their roster, and one of them just missed almost his entire rookie season with a leg injury.

They don't have the assets to get Cousins from the Kings, and they don't have the assets to entice anyone else to help them get Cousins from the Kings.

This is just Stein using his one good "source", which has been obviously someone within the Lakers organization for like a decade now, with that source using him to try to get someone, anyone to help them make this deal happen, and it really can't for the reasons listed above. If anyone WAS interested in the trade and had the assets to get Cousins off the Kings, they'd just take Cousins for themselves.

Sidenote: if you guys are upset at Vooch's defense, you'll be horrified when you see Cousins.

Boogie is not a culture fit. I don't see it happening.
