The Super Awesome, season-long '11-12 Magic 'Strap in' Thread

Recommended Posts

Yeah that was the problem, he felt Magic fans were believing what was being said about him and the stuff Ping was posting, hence the post-game comment after the Philly road win. And yeah ive told him how some of you guys agree with him on Stan. The other stuff i'll bring up towards the end of the playoffs

Believing it to be true is one thing. I did that. But I don't believe it was all his fault. I think many things were taken out of context and others were the media making their money. The things I think were Dwights fault were:

I think Dwight could have handled the questions regarding who he'd like to play with differently.

I think by requesting a new GM, Dwight could have gotten his way as far as Stan goes.

DH have a HNP with a pecutaneus diskectomy. His strength is not an issue. He be ok with full strength in a few months.

I am certain on how positive his recovery will be. He is going to be 100%.

We do spine and as ortho spine specialist I am confident on his recocery.

Dont be concern about this. He will be back 100%.

I am sure that he is loosing a lot of sleep about the uncertanty on his recovery. He needs to know that he will be ok.

Bynum in the other hand...

I am glad to see that there are people here offering help. We need more people like this.

Arielle, i might have other patients that may benefit from that type of treatment more. People who are not capable to physically perform the exercises require for their recovery due to the level of surgery and pain.

I appreciate this forum and it is very entertaining to say the least.

Sorry for the mispelling as i am typing using the phone.

while I don't agree with Dwight on Stan, I do think our front office is terrible. They're horrible at retaining players, they're horrible at drafting, they're horrible at finding pieces that fit our system, they're horrible at evaluating talent (and fool's gold) from other teams, they're too loyal to players they shouldn't be loyal to (glowers at Duhon), and not loyal enough to the players that matter.

Really, Dwight will do what he's going to do, and what he thinks will make him happy. I respect that. I don't really respect all the "going public" aspect of this situation, but these days, that's hard to avoid.

For what we have, Jameer has always been loyal to this organization, provided leadership, and shown up to play (even when he shouldn't have *cough injuries cough*). While I think he'd be devastating as a sixth man, he's not a great match for a dominant center. We need someone who can consistently feed the post and break down the defense. Unfortunately there's not a lot of those guys in the league.

This whole situation has been frustrating, but even more so because it was created by an incompetent front office. Not Stan, not Dwight, not Duhon: a front office that's either understaffed or just bad at their jobs.

When speaking of our front office please remember that Martins is in charge now. Things will be a lot different.

By "front office" you really mean Otis Smith here, but I will point out a couple of things. We aren't horrible at drafting. We aren't one of the better teams in terms of draft choices, but we aren't one of the worst either, we're right around (possibly above) average. Fran was a horrible draft choice, but JJ turned out pretty good, C. Lee was a solid late 1st rounder as well. We've (so far) retained Dwight, JJ and Jameer (I imagine we will retain Anderson as well, unless something crazy happens).

I'll admit the more recent drafts haven't been so bad, and yes: I do primarily mean Otis Smith, but I also mean the entire scouting team and most everyone else there.

Hearing that our FO is smaller and understaffed actually explains a lot. With limited resources, there's only so much you can do. As Drain-O says, Martins is in charge now. I'll wait and see how that shakes out before passing judgment one way or the other.

At this point, this team's so dysfunctional, I'm not sure where the fault lies, whether it's personnel, talent, coaching, psychological, or Venus occluding the third ring of Saturn. I don't care: I just want this weirdness to end and our team to consistently win games and challenge for the championship again.

True, I agree with this. I too think he will have 100% recovery regardless. Hey, I'm trying to get D12 to my clinic ;-) ... I look at the vibrawav as getting a message. The sensation is similar. But, yes, I agree with you. I said on earlier threads that if he ended up getting surgery, it would be better for him so as not to increase the aggravation.

D12 -- no worries! You did the right thing getting surgery. You will be 100%. Can I offer you a massage at my clinic? Lol ....

I see you are not a real hardcore basketball fan,Anybody who watched Josh Smith all year has seen that he has been a allstar and has developed a post and iso gameand he is a very underated passer for a bigman. He DOESN'T CHUCK 3's like he did for most of his career. The guy has cleary become a more mature player and it shows with his play on the court,He has become Atlanta's best all around player this year.

His three point attempts per game have gone down compared to last year but are still above his career average, and his % made on those threes has dropped to a horrible 25.9%.

If, as you say, he has chucked 3's most of his career, he is certainly still doing so.

That isn't to say he hasn't improved in other areas, and he has certainly had a great year, but you've got to go down the list until you hit Big Baby to find someone on our team that shoots a worse percentage from behind the arc. Duhon takes about the same number of attempts and shoots better from behind the arc than Smith.

Would I label him a chucker? No, probably not, but really needs to stop taking those attempts from behind the arc. There is a reason why the home crowd groans in Atlanta when Smith takes those shots.
