Wow, Emory. I've underestimated you. Good one!

I agreed with what he said. My comment was an addendum. The points I particularly agreed with: It is a beyond horrible idea to give someone who has absolutely no personnel experience the GM position and have them work once a week. Have we not learned anything over the last few years. You want to know why OKC and San Antonio keep getting good players. Because they out scout and out work everyone. Not because they hire the biggest names possible. If he wants to coach the team then fine but I think it would be stupid to give someone what Phil wants simply to curtail to Dwight's desires.

Magic is still Dwight's best option to dominate and make a name for himself, while reclaiming his positive image.

Excellent point. Jackson's success has been handed to him because he always had the star players to play with. We need to hire a GM with experience and a winning edge. Follow the Spurs or Thunder model.

The article below says Jackson calling all the shots. Wants to work in Orlando one week a month and part ownership. It's the Magic that are saying no according to this latest report. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_magic/2012/06/schmitz-take-phil-jackson-has-to-be-totally-committed-or-no-deal.html

This is from CBS report: Representatives for Phil Jackson submitted a new proposal to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday for the 11-time NBA championship-winning coach to run the team. LEAD THE WAY Phil Jackson and Red Auerbach top our list of the 10 best coaches in NBA history. It was reported last week that Jackson had decided against pursuing a role with the coachless team's front office. But according to a Sports Illustrated report early Wednesday, which cited sources, the discussions are still alive with the former Lakers and Bulls coach. The latest version of the proposal reportedly has Pacers assistant and ex-Lakers assistant Brian Shaw as the coach of the team, with former Bulls star Scottie Pippen the lead assistant. Former Bulls player Sam Vincent, who is leading the push, would occupy a front-office role, while Jackson would work remotely — likely from Los Angeles — for all but one week of each month. One source said Jackson was also seeking a minority ownership stake in the Magic. Magic CEO Alex Martins, however, does not appear to be in favor of the idea of an absentee leader, the report said.

All will be forgiven. Tell him. All will be forgiven. He needs to go to Mr. Amway himself if he wants the Jackson 5 taking charge of this team. Reports out there say Jackson is the one wanting this -- it's up to the Magic to give him what he wants, which is minority ownership of the team.

Bam! Bring on the Jackson 5 if it gets Dwight to stay! Interesting, AKennedy don't mess around with our fragile hearts!

Dwight told me last night he was gonna stay. He told me while I was sleeping and our ids met in the stratosphere of dreams. He said, "Loyalty pays." If you sleep on your back and tighten the body, it allows your soul to elevate from your body and your soul can meet other souls while your physical body sleeps. I meet up with Dwight all the time. He is very torn, but last night he did say: "Loyalty pays." Then I woke up.

True. But if Phil went to Dwight and Dwight still said no ... Then we now have to prepare for the worse. That Dwight's heart is no longer in the Magic. A Josh Smith miracle may still be in the works, but I'm beginning to think that Dwight is gone. Sad but true.

Phil Jackson as an unproven GM is not what this team needs. The entire culture has to change and I hope it starts with a GM who has a proven record. If the above story is true, we still have the leverage. Dwight still becomes more valuable at the trade deadline and/or if he can be traded for the 1st pick. Let NJ rot -- Deron will leave if Dwight doesn't start the season as a Net. Dwight will have even less leverage at the trade deadline IF we can't land a superstar or the 1st pick for him. Look at the teams who are top 4 -- the Orlando Magic need all stars not mediocre players.

Well, if the reports out there were true, Phil Jackson would have been signed and dotted as the new GM. Phil changed his mind. These things take time and take mutual agreements between two parties. Someone has to want the job. With our superstar's one foot out the door policy, the Orlando Magic is not necessarily the most stable organizations at this point. Either way, Otis HAD to go. Regarding Stan, well, I guess the Magic are taking the gamble and want to show their superstar they choose him over their most successful coach in franchise history. We'll see how it plays out ...
