What more do you want from J. Nelson ? (commentary)

Recommended Posts

Agree about the comment of our defense lacking lately.

I'd still like to see a comparison of how the team plays/performs with Hedo/ Arenas as opposed to Hedo/ Jameer.

For anyone that has the time and or know how....

Here you go, just go towards the bottom of the pages....

Jameer

I haven't even looked at them...just taking a break from homework.

Brandon Bass is arguably the worst 4 in the NBA on defense.

If you've noticed, teams have been running absurd numbers of 1-4 screens, or using power forward screens to create the offense. Why? Because they know Bass is not good enough to rotate or defend.

Jameer getting screened by Aldridge, West, Garnett means that he can't make a defensive play on Miller, CP3, Westbrook, or Rondo. Our 4 and 5 need to rotate better to help.

The point guard gets all the blame when another PG goes off but you have to realize that when a screen is set, the point guard is effectively taken out of the defensive arrangement.

Pick and Fart....thanks for the assistance, although I'm still chuckling as I type your screen name.

Now, I've tried to interpret this data and here is what I conclude:

Arenas/Turk w/ Dwight is a +21 on the season.

Jameer/ Turk w/ Dwight is a -7.

Which is what I suspected.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

This is were i miss Lewis the most. He wasn't surely a great defender overall, but very good on being in the right spot and taking the right decision.

Care to interpret? What do you think this information means, and why?

Bass and Anderson make Lewis look like prime KG out there

Hold dem britches, cowboy. Anderson has been ballin', while Lewis looked like some old string cheese for the Magic this year. I think the obvious adjustment is trying Ryan with the starters again.

What 2 players that have been playing at a very high level are on the floor with Arenas (usually) that not on the floor as much with Jameer? Have we been getting off to good starts or have we been digging out of leads when these 2 guys come in on the 2nd unit?
