.... Well in their defense, I will say they are only following the "insider" blue print which has been laid out by ESPN.

 

Throw out some rumor, have different analysts talk about the rumor on live TV, then see if it happens they way you rumored...

 

And if you are wrong... just make up a new rumor, that is close to the last rumor, to clear your original rumor...

 

If people are still catching on... then use another site's rumor and integrated into your rumor, which would make the overall rumor...

not to mention the fact that somebody drops "insider" information on here, it jumps over to a couple other espn messageboards, then some "credible" guys (The OS guys, Hoopsworld, fanhouse, Ping) report the rumor after seeing it on the internet.

 

Then the insiders go back and say "LOOK!!! im not making this up, real newsworthy people are reporting this" and the cycle continues.

I'd be honored to attend the ceremony. Can I bring the grandkids? They're both big fans of you. Whenever I get on here they put down their xbox and say "Peepaw, we want to read another jec post!" They get so excited. They'd be thrilled to watch you speak.

 

They may even want an autograph or two, if that's not too much trouble. I've got a box of my favorite posts that I print out for safe keeping. Those kids will sit there and read through it, acting out the conversations and dressing up like all the different avatars and signatures. It's so heart warming!

I honestly never expected to make it this far. I started out as a humble poster, just trying to provide for my family. I was a highly sought prospect coming out of high school, but who here wasn't, really?

 

When I was traded to this board after my brief stint in AOL and pornographic chat rooms, I was overwhelmed. I just tried to assume my role amongst the prestigious Hall of Famers and rising stars that were already well established or torching their way to super-stardom, respectively.

 

I did have some solid posts here and there; I can't say I expected such adoration for my contributions. I was lucky enough to arrive in the predominately nonsensical picture era, and my Microsoft Paint skills proved invaluable.

 

I understand that I am now a role model to young kids such as your grandchildren and I would be delighted as always to sign things for them! Pretty soon they'll be old enough to perhaps try and make a name for themselves, although I can't emphasize enough how lucky I am, and that not everyone has the talent to make it on this forum.

 

Do not forget that leaders such as yourself are the glue which holds this community together, and without you, we wouldn't have that beacon to show us the way through the storm.
