After last year, despite his good games, do you see VC being the answer to being "the guy" to take over a game? I don't. I want him to, but I can't see it. Not after losing another year of youth. Not after his disappearance in big moments.

48 points against the Hornets made us forget all his troubles for awhile. But then reality struck and we saw be the guy he thought he was. A fun player to watch, but not the missing piece.

Does he surprise us all next year? Hell, anything is possible. Do I think it's going to happen? No.

And then our other major problem. Gortat. "But what about when Dwight gets in foul trouble?". Then we bring in a vet for a quarter of the price to play for him and hope other guys on our team step up and do their job. It's ridiculous that some people here feel the organization has to pay $6 to $7 million a year to a guy to be an insurance policy. And don't even get me started on the atrocious idea of having him play the 4. Unless J.J. transfers his brain into Gortat, then it won't be a good idea.

I stand by my position that we need to trade Gortat for a young, hungry wing player who looks to create his own shot and can score at will. Maybe we could even get a vet big to go along with him. It doesn't have to be an all-star, just a scorer. We need a scorer. We need a guy who is going to come in and start lighting it up from all over the place. And if he misses? Well he attacks and hustles until he can't do it anymore.

Maybe I'm hoping for too much, or maybe I'm just totally off base. Thoughts?

Allen Iverson is available.

Chemistry will be another year stronger, we'll have more defense at the point guard position, dwight will be fresh off his hakeem training and hopefully takes a giant leap foward in his offensive production. That's not saying I wouldn't mind a Carmelo Anthony or Chris Paul if the opportunity presented itself, but thats probably never going to happen. If it doesn't work out again next year, we got vince's expiring and all the same assets to play around with.

All but Vince and I'm very happy

Agreed Vince needs to go. We need to get something for his 16 mil contract.

agreed his contract is our only chance at upgrading over the next couple years. Gortat can not be traded now unless we get a good big in return.

Ripper post.

We need a scorer. A guy is good for 20 a night. Not spectacular, but just scores. A guy who can take on an offense when Dwight is in foul trouble.

Rashard isn't that guy unfortunately, he's a terrific complementary piece that suits our style, but not a guy who you chuck the ball to when you need points and say, go to work we need points.

Carter was the hope, but cleary isn't aggressive enough or creative enough anymore. He's bassically another Lewis, who doesn't fit quite as well.

Meer can't be asked to do that. He feeds of others being good. Having defenses worried about where others are, dropping under screens opens him up for drives and dishes or open 3's.

Who knows who this guy is, maybe we do make a play at Iggy? That would be ideal if we could get him, but that's another pipe dream I guess.

If Arenas is bought that? Absolutely.

Despite his troubles. Despite his injuries. The guy is a scorer. He scores, and scores, and scores some more.

Right now, he's not very popular. But that doesn't mean squat when it comes to his talent. He would be perfect coming off the bench as a sixth man, a LEGIT sixth man. The kind that most teams dream of having...ala Ben Gordon, Ginobli, etc. The guy who comes in and puts the scoring on his back and does what he's supposed to do.

And about the deadline, I can't see it happening. Otis makes small moves at the deadline. If we're winning, I figure he thinks why ruin a good thing. I agree to an extent. We've learned the regular season and the playoffs are an entirely different animal.

I just don't want to see this team be the Mavericks of the East. It's not that serious yet, I understand that. But if we flame out again, it gets serious. Big time.

Agreed. Again.

Otis almost made me cry last season. First when he signed Carter (consider the best offseason move from all NBA specialists) and then when he did not make what he supposed to do in the playoffs. I still believe that something is coming up tomorrow. I believe in Otis. I believe In SVG. I believe in my team, always trying to get the team better...

If Carter stays, Jameer, it doesn't mean that we cannot made the run.

The fact is some mid level - Good player could be signed to improve us just a few, that is what we need.

T-MAC?

Haslem for the TPE (Is that even possible?)

All I know is if Shard is really training to play as a 3, he knows something that even Soul Bro doesn't. I hope he does. I mean, I believe...

Jareth, I agree with your post. Let me ask you; seriously, can Arenas be that wing scorer?

the best we can hope for is arenas or ellis. i honestly can't think of any other wing player who can create their own shot and score at will that we can realistically bring in.

either way, that is a small backcourt to have.

iggy & brand for vc, gortat & bass would make my pants tighter

other than those 3, i don't know if we can get a player like that and the first 2 i'm not thrilled about (arenas & ellis)

Dear Basketball Gods,

I would like to apologize for David Stern turning the NBA into a circus and a mockery. We have guys holding TV telethons to announce their intentions and other guys giving away their intentions through TWITTER and documentaries. Joe Johnson who completely disappeared and trashed his own fan base was rewarded with 126 million dollars. Amare Stoudemire and Carlos Boozer are making 200 million dollars over the next 5 years. I will not even get you started on Darko, Drew Gooden, and Amir Johnson.

What I do ask is that we do not stand for this. Please give us 5 years of the following teams in the Finals. Milwaukee, OKC, Orlando, and Portland.

Thanks for everything,

Drain-O
