Gotta disagree. I think Gortat is overrated. He plays soft and w/o consistency. Plus, adding Shane would significantly improve our team's focus and defense, which is sorely lacking.

Gotta disagree. I think Gortat is overrated. He plays soft and w/o consistency. Plus, adding Shane would significantly improve our team's focus and defense, which is sorely lacking.

 

Gortat is being unjustly evaluated because his production doesn't match that of what his contract suggests it should, but he's playing limited minutes behind the best Center in the league. If anything, he's still underrated. Who do you propose should play backup Center if/when Dwight heads to the bench? Bass? Foyle?! How would that fair against the Cavs in the playoffs if we choose to meet them?

 

And Shane Battier would become redundant, plain and simple. He really brings nothing more to what this team already has to offer. Where would he play? Behind Matt? If we need to upgrade defensively at any position, it's either PG, SG, or PF. We're as well rounded defensively at SF as any team in the league. Same goes for C.
